Let’s start with the term “xenophobia” (and related to it, “xenophobic” and “xenophobe”).
Liberals love to refer to Conservatives as vicious xenophobes, but I’ve yet to hear a cogent, illegal immigration-activist definition of xenophobia, which historically (since 1969) meant, “an extreme and irrational aversion to people from other countries.”
By their definition, what exactly is xenophobia? What constitutes a xenophobe or makes one xenophobic?
Once I dialogued with a illegal immigrant activist, and I asked him if I respected him as a fellow human being, sought to protect him against mistreatment and harm, but did not affirm his legal status, would I still be considered xenophobic in his eyes. I’m sure you can guess the answer.
This is why morally decent Jews, Christians, atheists, whites, blacks, Italians, Irish, liberals, conservatives, libertarians, socialists, environmentalists, and pretty much every other classification of people I can think of should require–yes, require–the fateful lightning of America’s terrible swift sword.
Nixon broke through in ’68 and built the New Majority that gave the GOP the White House for 20 of the next 24 years. The Nixon-Reagan coalition, however, has aged and atrophied. In five of the last six presidential elections, the Democratic nominee won the popular vote. And no fewer than 18 states, including four of the most populous — California, Illinois, Pennsylvania and New York — have gone Democratic in all six of those elections. Also, four states crucial to victory and once regarded as reliably Republican — Florida, Ohio, Virginia and Colorado — have turned purple.
The GOP is also facing a demographic crisis. Even though white folks, have provided for almost 90 percent of the 53,000 illegal alien kids given refugee status since October that have not already been transferred to parents or relatives living in the U.S. But those kids, if given amnesty, will vote Democrat, not Republican. Pffft.
Hillary Clinton recently defined leadership in a democracy as a relay race: “You run the best race you can run; you hand off the baton.” Obama was handed a baton he didn’t want, so he dropped it. As a result, it’s taken only a few short months for Obama’s chicken-roosting to take the form of thousands of defenseless American children being infected with pathogens shared by hosts who shouldn’t be in this country in the first place.
Neither Jesus nor any true evangelical would ever be “hostile” to illegals. In fact, it is an act of love to share the gospel with them. But sharing the gospel means confronting the reality of sin, not excusing it, condoning it, glorifying it or participating in it. But we live in strange times.
