If you needed another reminder of how much of an unreliable scumbag Michael Wolff is, here you go.
The author of “Fire and Fury,” the book that had the media (among others) wetting their collective pants in glee for about week, went on Bill Mahar’s show to continue his 15 minutes of fame tour. On the show he begins to hint at an affair Trump may be having currently…
‘It was so incendiary that I just didn’t have the ultimate proof,’ Wolff explained, later adding that he ‘didn’t have the “blue dress”.’
That was a reference to the semen-stained garment that 1990s White House intern Monica Lewinsky kept as evidence that she had a sexual fling with Bill Clinton.
‘You just have to read between the lines,’ Wolff told Maher. ‘It’s toward the end of the book. You’ll know it. Now that I’ve told you, when you hit that paragraph you’re going to say, “Bingo”.’
Maher asked if the hint was about ‘somebody [Trump’s] f***ing now.’
‘It is,’ Wolff responded.
After the interview, people began to research what paragraph he was talking about. It turns out there’s only one paragraph toward the end of the book that would fit into what Wolff is saying.
That would be a paragraph where he claims this…
…settled on a paragraph that claimed Trump ‘had been spending a notable amount of private time with Haley on Air Force One and was seen to be grooming her for a national political future.’
He also claims they’ve been spending private time in the oval office.
There’s just one problem. It’s an utterly garbage claim not backed up by reality, much like many of the stories in his book.
Haley took it seriously enough to respond…
Haley said Thursday that Wolff’s reporting ‘is absolutely not true,’
‘I have literally been on Air Force One once, and there were several people in the room when I was there,’ she protested. And that was a short hop last July from Washington to Long Island.
‘He says that I’ve been talking a lot with the president in the Oval [Office] about my political future. I’ve never talked once to the president about my future and I am never alone with him.’
The “notable” amount of time she’s spent on Air Force One turns out to be a single flight, in which she never was alone with him. This is just another example of Wolff making wild claims with no real evidence, many of which have turned out to be falsehoods or gross exaggerations.
Those that got into bed with Michael Wolff should feel a little dirtier this morning. I hope he at least paid for dinner.
