FL SB-96

Florida moved one step closer to a state’s rights amendment to the constitution today when SB96 cleared the judicary committee with a vote of 6 to 2. The next step is the state senate rules committee. Florida is one of 38 states drafting legislation to enforce the 10th amendment on the federal government. If I remember my American Government class right (back when they really taught that) 38 states is what it takes to ratify a constitutional amendment. Do the 535 children on capitol hill really want that kind of show down? The individual states can amend the Constitution outside of Congress. That would bring term limits to both the senate and the house. My grandfather once described politics to me by saying that republicans and democrats  were different sides of the same counterfeit coin, damn that man was smart. The time has come for the Constitution to rule not political parties
