What The Delaware Primary Means For Us

Let me be honest with you: I had no skin in the Delaware Primary and I would have supported O’Donnell or Castle. I’m all about stopping the Obama Agenda and that is my number one goal, if you ask me right now.

However, for better or for worse, we have crossed a line with the Delaware Primary that we simply can’t walk back. For you see, we are now in it for Ideology over Majority.

Crossing The Line

Up until this point, we have been debating if we were going to cross it. We have been looking at it, pleading with it, and inching closer to it. Then, as if something had possessed us, we stiffen out back and walked boldly accross the line.

Sure we have been debating if we should cross that line. However up until this point we have been lucky. Some Moderate Republicans have either ran bad campaigns or self-destruct. Just look at Charlie Crist. He went from a Popular Republican Governor to Republican Enemy Number One, in a matter of months.

The line that we had cross the other day wanted to be crossed. It was begging for us to cross it. We even pleaded with the RNC, NRSC, NRCC, verious local and state GOP parties, to not make us cross that line. We came close with Joe Miller, but Alsaka is a conservative place and he was ahead (if slightly) of any Democrat running.

And quit suddenly, on September 14th, 2010, we choose to cross that line. We cannot go back. No matter how badly we want it, we cannot not go “Oh crap!” and call a mulligan on this one. Even looking back will hurt us in a lot of ways.

Ideology Over Majority

The choice the before us was a simple one in Delaware: Do we want a sure majority or idealogical purity?

Again, up until this point we have had moderates either self-destructing or couldn’t put a good campaign together. This wasn’t really a heavy choice. In Delaware, we saw what would happen if we picked O’Donnell over Castle. Yet we went forward and pushed O’Donnell over that line anyway.

That is not to say it was a bad choice. O’Donnell may yet have one more magic trick up her sleeve. We could all look like pure geniues by picking her over Castle, only time will tell us what we want to know. We may even still get to 51 without her.

Good, Bad, I’m The Guy With The Vote

The path is laid out before us. Primaries will not be the same. The grassroots have spoken and we have made our choice. We want Ideology over Majority to win primaries. RNC, NRSC, NRCC, State, and Local Parties now know we want conservatives and not moderates. They will have to come to terms that the grassroots setting policy or they will be eaten alive.

Now it is our responsibility to follow through. We have to keep an eye on these people and hold them accountable, especially us bloggers. Mark Twain once said that you should “[n]ever argue with someone who buys ink by the barrel and paper by the ton.” Heck, the new quote should be: Never pick a fight with someone who uploads his files by the gigabyte!.
