It appears that the Islamist group ISIS has beheaded James Foley, an American journalist who has been missing since late 2012, and I can’t help but wonder whether the left in this country will attribute this murder to the sins of America. I mean, is this not just another example of America’s chickens coming home to roost?
Similar heinous acts were committed against Americans and other non-Muslims during G.W. Bush’s presidency, and the American left (BHO among them) and their media pamphleteers were quick to blame our military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan as the primary cause. If only we would make nice with them, or at least leave them alone, they’d quit killing us. (To come to that conclusion, one would have to forget the reasons our troops were deployed there anyway, but that’s another topic altogether.)
Obviously, that was not true then, and it’s equally untrue now. History and the contemporaneous words of Islamists both make it clear that nothing more than our status as living Americans is required to justify our extermination. Facts and reason have never stopped leftists from spewing their nonsense, however, and America was blamed for much of the violence perpetrated on us.
So, now that one of their own is running the show, I can’t help but wonder if the blood of Mr. Foley will be placed on Obama’s hands. BHO did order numerous and ongoing bombing missions in Iraq to slow ISIS and to protect innocents, and Mr. Foley’s murderers said that those bombing missions were THE reason for the beheading. Will radicals (e.g., rank-and-file democrats, democrat elected officials, the the mainstream media) again blame our actions for their barbarism? Or have they now perhaps learned that Islamists need no reason to kill us beyond the fact that we are Americans – even if the post-racial world unifier is our president?
