Fear of Sarah Palin on Journolist

While trudging through the muck and mire of the latest Journolist release on Daily Caller, one entry jumped out at me.

Look at these family pix here:

And here:

It looks like the daughter *could* be pregnant — especially in the first picture.

And it seems odd that Palin would wait until her 7th month to announce her pregnancy.

None of this is evidence of anything, of course — but I do relish the idea that if this were true and discovered, Palin would take the crown from Eagleton as the most disastrous veep choice ever.

I am really hoping Palin will self-immolate and bring down the ticket with her. Because if she proves to be a popular choice who doesn’t screw up too badly, she could be really, really dangerous in the years to come.

That final line is the payoff and it brings out into the harsh light of reality why the left hates Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin, and other like minded women, pose a huge threat to the Democrat Party’s chances over the next 20 years or so.

In ways that black Republican candidates don’t, conservative women can completely upend the electoral apple cart. There are high cultural walls that prevent large numbers of blacks from supporting Republicans. It will take decades of incremental change before the percentage of blacks voting Republican gets above 15% or so.

Women are quite different. When girls and young women begin to see more and more conservative women with an R by their name, the message will fairly quickly sink in that the old feminist dogma is hog-wash. Imagine the impact if white women were to start voting Republican in the same numbers as white men. Or even if white women simply split the difference between where they vote now and where white men vote, the results would be nothing short of catastrophic for the Democrat Party.

Kathleen Grier was absolutely correct. Sarah Palin “could be really, really dangerous in the years to come”. Dangerous to Democrats that is.
