I am a member of a great womans site called http://www.cafemom.com sorta like a turned down version of myspace for moms one of these ladies wrote this journal entry http://www.cafemom.com/journals/read/1203222/Sarah_Matters Please feel free to pass it around she has given me permision to send to a few friends as long as I give her credit. Why Sarah Matters

Some on the far left can’t seem to figure out why Sarah Palin is so popular. They can’t figure out why there is so much excitement for this woman from Alaska and why we get so incensed at the attacks on her and her Family. I am going to tell you. Some will get it, and others of you are so far on the left, your only into your own reality and don’t realize that there is a larger number in America. A silent part of America, that has now been awakened. We have been A Sleeping Giant

We are the women in Middle America. We are poor, and we are single mothers. We are rich, we are middle class. We are the working women trying to hold it all together. Raise our children, keep our marriages together and hold down a job. We are Moms, Grand Moms, Aunts, Sisters and Daughters. We are the majority of American women who have been forced to take the back seat and be quite while doing everything for everybody. We do this with pride, we do this with hope that our daughters will somehow some way have it easier to make her way.

We have been told over the years that we could do anything, be anything and achieve anything. Our mothers taught us to love and understand one another. Make your way in this world by doing the right thing. Meanwhile, the only roll models given to us were women like Gloria Steinem. Who taught us that we have to hate men, make it known to them that we are “Woman, hear me roar”….so you better stand out of my way buddy.

The Steinem attitude draws only subservient men into our lives, men who would roll over and take what ever we throw at them. Well, those of us who are real women know that’s NOT the kind of man we wanted. We want a REAL man, some one who is our friend as well as our lover. Someone who will encourage us to succeed, and let our voice be heard and not have his masculinity threatened.

We have known in our hearts that we can become what we want. We can have a family and a career. We can be successful without our husbands feeling less than a man. We know our roll and he knows his and it works. Through love and friendship….it works. Sarah and Todd have that…and it works.

Sarah Palin is me. Sarah Palin is you. Sarah is an everyday woman from an everyday town. Sarah Plain is the majority of women in America. Sarah saw a need in her town and she wanted to fill it. So with the blessings, of her husband, she did. She then saw a need in her state and again with her husbands blessing, she pursued the office of Governor. This everyday woman, from an everyday town. She is not a lawyer; she is not a Washington DC insider. She comes from a normal life and a normal family. She is you, she is me. We have a voice now. She is living the dream and life that we have been told about. She is the role model that we have been waiting for. Sarah has managed to place God her husband and children and her career all in the right order and she makes it work.

When Governor Plain told us the difference between a Pit Bull and Hockey Mom was Lipstick, we knew that was us! We are the soccer, hockey, baseball, and basket ball moms. That’s how we feel. We had T-shirts, Badges and Signs made that shout, “Read My Lipstick” So when Obama talks about lipstick on a pig without even a week’s passing, he knew what he was doing. He was talking about me, he was talking about the women that relate to Sarah Palin. He is talking about American moms. He was talking about Middle America. It was a direct insult. When Joe Biden says, that electing someone like Sarah Palin would be a step back for Women, he hasn’t a clue. It’s a step up and forward for those of us who have been forced to the back of the Bus by Men like him and Women like Gloria Steinem.

Todd Palin and his wife made the decision years ago that he would take on the primary parenting roll while his wife pursued her career. After YEARS of feminist like Gloria Steinem telling us this is alright, somehow NOW, the far left has decided that the situation is not right. The woman must be home and take care of the child, unless you agree with them. Somehow the man is less capable of taking care of the children, because our views on life are not like hers. MORE sexism.

We have seen in this race, the true side to the far left. From their “muscling” a woman in their own party, to accusations of racism. We have seen their hate and cruelty. The far left has attacked a teenager and a Down syndrome infant. We see where they really stand. They have touted themselves the Party of kindness and equality. They tell us they are the “Party of Choice”. Well, the last time I looked, “Choice” meant just that, CHOICE: being free to choose what you want. And that includes a child not listening to the lectures of a parent. Some people give their children birth control and some tell them to abstain. That is the parents’ right and choice to raise their children as they see fit.

Now we see what the far left’s true colors are. If someone doesn’t agree with them or their candidate, they accuse us of racism. They some how think they will guilt us into voting for a man who is clearly not a voice for us, whose stand on the issues are way out of place for us. They think we will be forced to compromise who and how we are. I have seen racism and sexism and pure hate more than any time in my 48 years on this earth, and its all come from the far left.

The women of this letter are pro-choice and pro-life. We are from small towns and large cities. We are college students, career women, stay at home moms, retirees. We are the women of America. We are the women that have been silenced for too long. There are large numbers of us and we join our hearts and hands together to fight against the garbage being said about Sarah because that garbage is actually being said about us. Its an attack on the American Woman. We know we must do this in defense of our daughters in hopes that it finally becomes the truth: That they CAN do what ever they want and be what ever they want and won’t have to face such attacks. We are going to help Sarah hold open that door that we have wanted open for so long.

Through the choice of Governor Palin, we have found ourselves. We have found our voice and our strength. And as the venom the far left throws at us becomes more vile, we become stronger everyday. We become more determined as they expose their far left agenda and the self serving creatures they are. Yes, we are the soccer moms, the hockey moms. Someone finally opened the gate for us. And after years of being caged, we are running at full speed.

We have been taken for grated for way too long. We have been discounted for way too long. Our numbers are large and our anger is vast. Don’t underestimate us; don’t discount us. This sleeping giant has been awakened by your vile words and your cruelty. We are awake and we are mad as hell. ‘Wrath has no fury like a women scorned’

Sarah is you, Sarah is me….YES, Sarah matters because WE matter.
