Fourteen years ago, conceived before the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93 were hit by Islamic terrorists, a television show called 24 had debuted on the FOX network. The premise of this show’s alternative America was that terrorist attacks were becoming regular events. A special agency called the Counter-Terrorism Unit was desperately tracking as many suspects as possible in order to thwart them. The hero was an agent named Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) who often had to fight government bureaucrats and feckless, duplicitous, and disingenuous politicians, as well as the terrorists.
“Sleepers,” either individuals or families planted here and living peacefully for years and seemingly Americanized, but in fact brutal and deadly in their Islamic purposes, were featured in most seasons. The series was therefore often accused by leftist critics as “Islamophobic.”
Season 4 came to mind last week: in fact it was the first thing I thought of, when the nonsense of “workplace violence” was thrown around. The plot of 24 that year used a family sleeper cell as part of an attack on the West Coast.
Feckless, duplicitous, and disingenuous politicians abounded last week, all of them jumping on the “gun control” issue as a cause for the attack, and parroting their fear that Islamophobia would rise because of just “two people” who were not representative of the “religion of peace.”
And how would Islamic terrorists enter the United States, either to attack us later or as soon as possible? Through the regular process of visas, including “fiance’ visas” in the case of the San Bernardino couple, and also…
[mc_name name=’Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’M001157′ ] (R-Texas) revealed portions of a classified letter from the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) on Monday, which offered new claims not previously disclosed by the Obama administration.
The disclosure could give ammunition to critics of the White House’s refugee plans who have warned that the program is vulnerable to infiltration by adherents of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
The NCTC has identified “individuals with ties to terrorist groups in Syria attempting to gain entry to the U.S. through the U.S. refugee program,” the intelligence agency told McCaul in a letter.
“The refugee system, like all immigration programs, is vulnerable to exploitation from extremist groups seeking to send operatives to the West,” the agency added, noting that a small number of Iraqi refugees were arrested on terror charges in 2010.
To those who say that terrorists are a tiny minority, who can be spotted by screening techniques, consider the following: opinion polls taken throughout the Islamic world (over 1,000,000,000 believers) show immense support for destroying Western Judaeo-Christian Civilization and replacing it with an unreformed and brutal theocratic “caliphate” with Sharia law, a “system” from the 7th century inimical to Western ideas on freedom and human rights. “Immense” means e.g. 88% of Egyptians agreeing with al-Qaeda that Western ideas on freedom and law must be kept out of Islamic countries, along with 76% of Indonesians, 64% of Moroccans, and 60% of Pakistanis.
And for attacking America directly, support is also widespread: e.g. 83% of Palestinians, 62% of Jordanians, and 61% of Egyptians all favor killing Americans.
And so the odds are 9 out of 10 that a non-Christian Egyptian migrating to the United States would be quite happy with trashing our heritage, and the odds are 2 out 3 that he or she would be quite happy with Americans dying in an Islamic terror attack.
And are Americanized Islamic believers more reasonable? Have they reformed their beliefs on their own?
Overall, the survey, which was conducted by The Polling Company for the Center for Security Policy (CSP), suggests that a substantial number of Muslims living in the United States see the country very differently than does the population overall. The sentiments of the latter were sampled in late May in another CSP-commissioned Polling Company nationwide survey.
According to the just-released survey of Muslims, a majority (51%) agreed that “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to shariah.” When that question was put to the broader U.S. population, the overwhelming majority held that shariah should not displace the U.S. Constitution (86% to 2%).
More than half (51%) of U.S. Muslims polled also believe either that they should have the choice of American or shariah courts, or that they should have their own tribunals to apply shariah. Only 39% of those polled said that Muslims in the U.S. should be subject to American courts.
And ISIS/ISIL has long-term plans for world domination: reports of WMD materials being smuggled into Europe and personnel being recruited to create the weapons have come out recently:
Also keep in mind that one per cent of one billion believers is 10,000,000. So, even if these majorities do not actively support al-Qaeda, the Taliban, ISIS/ISIL, etc., their passive complicity is good enough for the terrorists.
And if you think that the Chinese and the Russians would not gladly support Islamic terrorists against us, please consider the past 70 years! The Chinese and the Russians will always support anyone causing us trouble. They may have their own problems with Islamic terrorism, but they will be quite happy to see us and the Europeans squirm, squeal, and die at the hands of Islam. Putin right now may be talking against ISIS, but in fact his main purpose is protecting Syria as his client state and the Russian base in the eastern Mediterranean. In the world of 24 the Chinese and the Russians and even drug lords in Central and South America could arrange uneasy alliances against us. Postulating such a scenario seems ever more possible, as the weakness of the United States – caused by design by the current resident of the White House – continues to embolden the Lords of Chaos in our world. And the Islamic terrorists will gladly join them – temporarily – to destroy Western Civilization, in much the same way that Hitler allied with Stalin temporarily.
So the problem remains: if you believe in Islam, and do not believe that violence against non-believers can be justified, then you are not quite orthodox in your beliefs, and can be considered expendable in the fight to Islamicize the world. While Islamic states in the past have grudgingly tolerated Christians and Jews and others under their control, too often the “infidels” were subjected to discrimination and relegated to an inferior status legally and politically. Always keep in mind e.g. that our supposed ally Saudi Arabia has an absolute policy against religious toleration!
Our leaders can pussyfoot around addressing the issue at our peril: the problem is NOT unemployment, lack of education, and certainly not the ridiculous claim that “global warming” is involved. The problem is the violent roots of Islam itself, going back to its supposed prophet, who was rather violent himself according to Islamic sources themselves.
Islam has no pope, it has no councils of bishops, it has no councils of reformers to re-evaluate the religion, so that it can become a “religion of peace.” Check the Koran: it is a rambling, contradictory, syncretic text which cries for a modern interpretation. But because of the tribal nature of Islam, no such ecclesiastical authority exists to counter the Islamofascists and their provable (i.e. based on the Koran) claim that they are the true ones following the Koran’s dictates. Until that happens, we might be seeing the world of 24 become a reality.
Update: December 10, 2015
We may start hearing about “Arranged jihadi marriages” as the seed of a sleeper cell:
“San Bernardino killers Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik began scheming to carry out a terrorist attack long before they were engaged or he moved her to the United States on a fiancee visa in July 2014, a widening and increasingly complex FBI investigation has found.
Testifying to the Senate Judiciary Committee, FBI Director James Comey said Wednesday that the FBI has determined “they were radicalized before they started courting or dating each other online, and as early
as the end of 2013 were talking to each other about jihad and martyrdom.”
The couple thus evaded scrutiny by federal law enforcement, intelligence and counterterrorism agencies for two years before they shot and killed 14 people and wounded 21 others at a holiday party on Dec. 2. It also means they began communicating before the rise of
The couple jointly pledged allegiance to Islamic State on social media shortly before they were killed in a shootout with police, Comey said. Previous reports had indicated that only Malik had done so.”
So arranging a “marriage” to use fiancee visas and plant a sleeper cell for future terrorism is apparently a reality now, an idea predicted in the 24 series and in other fictional realms.
In today’s Wall Street Journal, columnist Daniel Henninger points out the obvious, i.e. that when you decide on a policy of “leading from behind” in respect to Islamic Terrorism, you end up being behind their attacks.
