How to turn the MI Senate Seat red

Memo to Bobby Schostak and Terry Lynn Land

Subject:  Fixing the GOP campaign for Senate seat in Michigan

I worked for Mitt Romney’s campaign in Michigan.  Have been asked to help with this year’s campaign to turn the MI seat in US Senate Red.  Please note that I am entirely discouraged with Mary Lynn Land’s efforts to date.

Last night, for example, there was a tv commercial for her on the theme of ‘Michigan First.’  What does Michigan first mean?  Even the bluest of blue candidates from Michigan want this state to be on top.  If they don’t they should.

The biggest issues this year are health care, immigration, jobs.

Here is what I want her to say:

If you want to jam Michigan communities with scabies, with lice, and with tb, then you should vote for my opponent.  I don’t care if your name is Rodrigues or Rogers, if you want to fill Michigan schools with teenaged males from El Salvadore and Honduras, boys who haven’t been screened for gang affiliations, then go ahead and vote for my opponent.

If you’re just thrilled that the US Border Patrol is being stationed 70 miles from the border, enabling drug dealers and potential terrorists to flood into the country, then you should vote for my opponent

If you don’t care that local school systems are going to have to hire translators, nurses, therapists to deal with an influx of illegals, then go ahead and vote for my opponent.

If you once had a health care plan at work that was replaced with Obamacare, and even now you don’t know whether you really have insurance, and you’re happy about it, go ahead and vote for my opponent.

If you were told that you could keep your doctor, but you can’t, and don’t really mind, then go ahead and vote for my opponent.

If you think it’s great that we’re giving pink slips to hundreds of Army majors, while they’re serving in Afghanistan, you should probably vote for my opponent.

If you think it’s great that Vladimir Putin is making mincemeat of Barack Obama, then you should probably vote for my opponent.

But, if you think that things are wrong and should be fixed, then I respectfully and optimistically seek your vote.

Ms. Land:  If you think that running on Michigan First is going to get you to Washington over the big blue machine, you should probably pack it in now.
