Republican House Members, and especially House Freedom Caucus members, must refuse to elect [mc_name name=’Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’R000570′ ] as their Speaker.
Congressman Ryan is not just pro-amnesty, but he is actually a supporter of the most radical and extreme-Left “no borders” ideology, which even President Obama has not dared publicly endorse.
“Open borders” types believe national borders should be torn down regardless of the many threats. No barriers or fences. No customs, no visas. No criminal background checks or searching trucks for drugs, weapons, and terrorists.
The scheme is being pushed by the hard Left, and such organizations are bankrolled by George Soros and other left-wing benefactors. We ignore this radical movement and its goals at our national peril. Open borders should find no refuge in the Republican Party, much less the Speaker’s office.
Under such a scheme, the American worker would become an endangered species, as employers would accelerate the current trend of firing our workers in favor of cheaper foreign workers–which is driving voters to Trump, Cruz and other pro-border-security candidates.
Even as Europe is being forced to build fences to stop millions of refugees, Ryan continues to ignore Europe’s tragic lesson and the possibilities of a similar refugee crisis here.
Ryan appears to trust that all who cross our border are here to fulfill a dream to become an American and work hard. While this is the case for many, others will take advantage of a lawless border, including drug lords, traffickers, smugglers, ISIS, Al Qaeda, Iran, and criminals.
Ryan would split the GOP at the time we need genuine unity. He would undermine House support for defending our border as we go into the 2016 campaigns.
The voters are speaking loudly in this campaign that they do not want amnesty at all. In fact, a SurveyUSA poll found that anti-amnesty and pro-border fence Donald Trump has earned the support of 31 percent of Hispanics; greater than the amount Mitt Romney received in 2012, or even George H.W. Bush in 1988.
Alarmingly, Ryan is working closely with Democrat Congressman [mc_name name=’Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL)’ chamber=’house’ mcid=’G000535′ ] (D-IL) on amnesty and open borders, and as Speaker, he could be expected to work both secretly and openly with Democrats to abolish our borders and enact amnesty.
In so doing, he would betray every legal immigrant who worked hard to earn a visa and citizenship.
Finally, if there remains any doubt over Ryan’s loyalty to the conservative and GOP agendas, it is this: Sen. [mc_name name=’Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’R000146′ ] just endorsed him for Speaker.
Republican Members must vote against any candidate for Speaker who is not fully committed to securing our border, and not joining the President to pass amnesty and tear down our border. This group regretfully includes Paul Ryan.
Art Harman was Congressman Steve Stockman’s (R-TX) Legislative Director in the 113th Congress, and authored the strategy which killed the 2013 Senate amnesty bill.
