President Obama has seized upon Hillary’s email-powered fall with a sudden push and near-endorsement for the Vice President to enter the race for President.
There’s a lot more to this, and Monica Crowley has done important reporting on how Hillary might have been set up from the beginning for an email-scandal campaign fall. Certainly, the investigation of Hillary’s emails would never have happened without the President’s approval.
This goes beyond a mere Obama-Clinton rivalry.
It is a battle to give Obama his coveted third term.
A chance to complete his “fundamental transformation of America.” To “necessarily skyrocket electric rates” and bankrupt the coal industry; and enact by executive decree many other radical actions Obama might not be able to complete within his term.
The model is Putin’s stand-in puppet, Dmitry Medvedev, who in 2012 famously demonstrated his subservience as he discussed disarming the United States with Obama.
Obama explained “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.” Medvedev told him: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”
Medvedev was indeed never more than Putin’s stand-in, and perhaps this exchange gave Obama the idea of continuing his control of the White House beyond his Constitutional term, using his loyal but bumbling Vice Presidential servant, paired with his ideological soulmate, [mc_name name=’Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’W000817′ ].
Just weeks ago, this scenario may have seemed nearly impossible to pull off, given the powerful and wealthy Clinton machine and Hillary’s apparently solid lock on the nomination. Which lends further credibility to Crowley’s argument that Obama set up Hillary for a fall at the moment of his choosing.
Perhaps it was even the President himself who helpfully suggested that Hillary use a private server. In the news too is speculation that Biden might know damaging details of Hillary’s emails.
By the way, Hillary, it is not the “vast right-wing conspiracy” that is taking you down, but one far closer to home; perhaps the “Vast West Wing Conspiracy.”
Americans should be greatly concerned that a president would set the stage so brazenly to rule through a proxy following the end of his term.
Should Obama’s gambit pay off, perhaps Biden will tell Putin at their first meeting, “I understand. I will transmit this information to Barack.”
