The Real Reason you should not vote for Jeb Bush

George HW Bush Socks GOP fundraiser

Since when did selling socks become a substitute for defeating liberalism?

George Herbert Walker Bush was a Lieutenant (junior) in the U.S. Navy. On August 1, 1944, the San Jacinto commenced operations against the Japanese in the Bonin Islands. Bush piloted one of four Grumman TBM Avenger aircraft from VT-51 that attacked the Japanese installations on Chichijima (Wikipedia, Retrived 2014). After completing his mission his plane went down, he then rescued other sailors in the Pacific Ocean. He still jumped out of airborne vehicles at the age of 90. I love him like my grandpa. That’s why I have a hard time buying the dude’s multi-colored socks.

I’m not a soldier. Never have been. I could do the job but that’s beside the point. I respect the men who wear our uniform. I don’t respect people who shill for the GOP with goofy hosiery. 41 was never conservative enough to hold the mantle of Ronaldus Magnus. “Read my lips, no new taxes.” Only someone with pink argyle stockings would try to reverse that statement. Did he enjoy his socks as Director of the CIA? My feet wear 4 colors – black, brown, blue and white. Period.

George W. Bush wore cowboy boots. I suspect this was to cover up his socks. I liked him too… until he did some pretty dumb things like authorize a police state and bailout his pals at Goldman Saks and other silver spoon clubs. After that I still liked him, but in the way I like a class clown or fraternity brother. Funny, but don’t trust him with the keys anymore.

And, I don’t think that Jeb Bush falls far from the Bush tree. He is probably a closet rainbow sock wearing liberal Republican. So, in conclusion, don’t vote for Jeb Bush because he probably wears kaleidoscopic nylons when you are not looking. And that is about as much of an indication of his politics as anything he is going to say.

I’m sure many reading have gotten this message from the GOP:

Every dollar you donate will be matched by a group of donors — which means double the resources the GOP needs to finish the year strong.
Place your George H.W. Bush Socks order today to receive it by Christmas.

**This post is meant to contain a hint of sarcasm with a dose of WTH, because I honestly don’t know why someone would buy George H.W. Bush’s ugly socks. And, the GOP used to stand for something. How do we get that back? Ergo, I give money to organizations that say something like “We will honor, protect and defend the constitution, this nation, your family and faith, and your right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” And other messages that approximate fealty to our founding heritage.
