Grandmothers Letter to Obama

Mr. President since you have no time for this American, it seems only fitting that I share my letter with all Americans.  Meeting me at the White House in front of God and all fellow Americans isn’t an option, it’s plain to see.  So the second best approach is to write a letter and hope that you receive it and take time to read it.

Allow me to introduce myself; I’m Marcia Wood and a proud mother of four adult children and grandmother of seven beautiful angels.  I am 70 years old with a dream in my heart, that I would be part of creating a legacy for all Americans that they could embrace and be proud of, but that isn’t happening Mr. Obama.

Not to waste your time, let’s get to the “nitty gritty.” First of all don’t pull the “Race Card,” because what I have to say has nothing to do with race, but it does have a lot to do with a man’s character.  My brother of many, many years has the same skin color as you – we eat, play together and pray together, Mr. Obama – so just chuck the “race card.”

John Adams said, “The people “have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge– I mean of the character and conduct of their rulers.” Character is the man, Mr. Obama and Americans have a right to know your past!

So please tell me Mr. Obama, who are you and where did you come?  The missing years of your life are the most important pieces to your character puzzle.

What I have discovered was a man who hung out with those who operated the “Chicago Machine” and the community interest groups who spend their time taking money out the backdoor of our government.  Barack Obama was the man who hid behind the skirts of politics during your term in both Senates.

You straddled the fence during your interim as Senator and that I believe was for 2 reasons; (1) You didn’t want to leave a trace of who Mr. Obama really is or what he thinks, and (2) You needed the support of fellow Democrats and you didn’t want to ruffle any feathers.  So you slid thru the Senate positions without leaving your trademark!

Much of your money during the years that I’m questioning probably came via government grants for community projects (as you call them) and Michelle’s real estate deals with your “Oh so Famous” Reverend Wright whom you literally kicked to the curb a while back.

But, as Mr. Wright suggested, you had to do this because of your new position as President of our United States.  Correct me if I’m wrong, but the news on the street says, “You and Mr. Wright are etched at the hip once again.”

My first glimpse of the real Barack Obama was during your campaign trail; I started picking up on key phrases like, spreading the wealth better known as redistribution.  Going back to February 10, 2007 the day you announced your Democratic run for Presidency, your speech that day was full of promises and laced with contempt for our government. You mentioned ushering in a new “birth of freedom,” and that was the key to your whole campaign as you ran for President.

Only thing, it wasn’t a new birth of freedom – it was the beginning of a downward slide into Socialism and actually our freedom that you refer to is vanishing as we speak.

Your comments about letting the Unions lift up the middle class Americans is more than a little bit scary and the remark about the genius of our forefathers giving us a government that can be changed demonstrates to me that you are perfectly comfortable with changing our Constitution and our government.

You didn’t have to go to Springfield Illinois to discover the essential decency of American people – Americans from one corner of our country are to the other are decent; you are the one who is living in a glass house.

Instead of leading our Nation, you opt to destroy it one reform at a time – you are unable to grasp real leadership and in closing here are a few of your quotes that may kick you in the fanny quite soon.

“I think when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.” Maybe you shouldn’t be thinking, it’s one thing to spread your own money, but we are fed up with you spreading our money.

If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists – to protect them and to promote their common welfare – all else is lost.”  All else is lost, Mr. Obama!

“ Let me even say before I even get inaugurated, during the transition we are going to be having meetings all across the country with community organizations so that you have input into the agenda for the next presidency of the United States of America.”  We’re still waiting and so are those attending town halls and tea parties.

So Mr. Obama, I say to the American people today, “Take Back Our Country America.”  The man we call Mr. President believes in big government, spreading or redistributing wealth, no transparency, higher taxes and less freedom.  We can’t sit around any longer – change has arrived and it isn’t the “Change” we were promised in 2008 and the early part of 2009.
