ACORN’s Talking point: “Invalid voter registration cards do NOT constitute voter fraud. Even RNC General Counsel Sean Cairncross has recently acknowledged he is not aware of a single improper vote cast as a result of bad cards submitted in the course of an organized voter registration effort.”
This is one of those times where you just want to step back and say “Oh, really….?” because, in the end, it only makes logical sense that invalid voter registration cards would lead to invalid voters, but then again, thats logical and sometimes in politics, logic goes out the window. So lets go to the evidence:
In New Mexico, they have a big problem with vote fraud, and part of that problem is that voters who committed vote fraud, registered fraudulently upfront. Check out Amanda Carpenters reporting here:
The Associated Press reported Friday that the New Mexico GOP found 28 people who voted fraudulently in Albuquerque during the June Democratic primary by absentee ballot. One of the ballots was cast from someone named “Duran-Duran”
The GOP’s review was conducted in House District 13 and only included 92 ballots. That means roughly a third of the ballots examined found by the GOP were fraudulent. The New Mexico GOP released 10 of their suspect ballots. They ballots did not contain required identification information such as Social Security numbers, drivers license numbers or birthdates.
“This is a bombshell. We now have undeniable proof that a significant number of fraudulent voters were cast in Democrat primary races for the New Mexico state legislature as a result of ACORN’s voter registration fraud,” said State Representative Justine Fox Young (R.-Albuquerque). “No longer can ACORN argue that their phony voter registration forms don’t translate into fraudulent votes. They do and today we can prove it.”
And that’s only one location where voter registration fraud translated into vote fraud. Lets journey to that far off place…[Ohio] (http://www.nypost.com/seven/10142008/news/politics/bogusvoterbootedamidprobeofacorn_133540.htm).
Investigators probing ACORN have learned that an Ohio man registered to vote several times and cast a bogus ballot with a fake address, officials said yesterday, as they revealed that nearly 4,000 registration applications supplied by the left-leaning activist group were suspect.
The vote of Darnell Nash, one of four people subpoenaed in a Cuyahoga County probe of ACORN’s voter-registration activities, was canceled and his case was turned over to local prosecutors and law enforcement, Board of Elections officials said yesterday.
Its not much, but its enough to negate that defeatist attitude they have about their efforts never leading to massive vote fraud. At least some times, the effort is very, very succesful.
