Two of the much maligned Alaska Legislators putatively “cleaned up” are being released and DOJ will bring the charges again in a new trial in the federal district court for Alaska.  Once again, the DOJ team that infested Alaska for a couple of years has been found to have withheld exculpatory evidence.  The Anchorage Daily News story is here: http://www.adn.com/news/politics/fbi/story/819539.html

This is what happens when the government takes an old man and tells him that they’re going to put him and his son in jail for the rest of their lives and leave his family destitute if he doesn’t sing and dance for them.  That’s what the government did to Bill Allen.  He made a plea deal with them that saved his family at the price of divesting of the company.  The government continues to hold the sentence over his head but he’ll ultimately take the fall for the prosecution teams failures in the Stevens case and now this one.

Three prominent Alaskans pleaded guilty rather than face what had become a lynch mob mentality here in Alaska.  We’ll see what they do.

Of course, the lefty meme is that it was all the evil Bush/Cheney DOJ while they conveniently overlook the fact that the prosecution team was all holdovers and the Democrats’ actions to stop the Bush Administration from removing holdover US Attornies.  One poster in the ADN’s comments section goes so far as to say that the Republican legislators should be glad that there is now a Democrat administration in power to fix things like this.  Hypocrisy and ignorance know no bounds on the other side of the ditch.

And I was able to wait until the very last sentence to tell some of you, “I told you so” about those corruption charges you were so worked up about.
