Are You Ready For Some Terrorism?

ISIS CAPTURE

As the 13th anniversary of September 11th approaches, nearly every news cycle has alarming reports warning Americans that a domestic terrorist attack is on the horizon.

But unlike the surprise attacks of September 11, 2001, or the April, 2013 Boston Marathon bombing, it appears that the next round of terrorist attacks is expected.

Expected? Stop right there and think about that concept.

How the heck did America, the great superpower — the “land of the free and home of the brave” – get to a point where a domestic terrorist attack is not only expected, but seems almost inevitable?

That question has one simple answer — perceived weakness coupled with inaction emboldens our enemies.

And it was our Nobel Peace Prize winning president who personified that phrase when, on August 28, outfitted in a GQ shade of taupe, he stood before the White House press corps and declared that “we don’t have a strategy yet” for defeating the Islamist militants in Syria, now called ISIS.

Obama’s instantly historic and infamous gaffe compounded by his “perfect for the country club suit” was widely ridiculed on social media as the audacity of taupe and “taupe and change.”

President Obama’s fashionable, yet weak persona, coupled with “no strategy” is even worse when compared to those take-no- prisoners, black mask wearing, barbaric ISIS terrorists.

The latest estimates indicate that ISIS is generating between $2 to $4 million dollars of revenue daily to fund their growing terror network. They have formed an Islamic state otherwise known as a caliphate. Just how much land they control is up for debate depending on the definition of the word “control.” Their stated goal is global domination and there is no doubt that they plan on coming after us. First however, they may decide to make a few stops in Europe, with the UK high on their list.

President Obama has called ISIS a cancer which is a dangerous and understated description. Why not call them what they really are — a growing military power with weapon and material assets that can only be defeated by other military powers? ISIS, although it sounds like a disease is hardly one that can be treated with drugs or surgery.

Now, with terrorist attack paranoia running rampant, Americans are in desperate need of a President who can morph into a wartime leader because we are at war, whether we admit it or not.

Let’s take a moment to remember Condoleezza Rice’s opening statement before the 9/11 Commission in 2004 when she said, “The terrorists were at war with us, but we were not yet at war with them.”

Sound familiar?

But is President Obama ready to embrace this concept? Is he capable of embracing it?

The answer is clearly “no.”

Consider the following statements Obama made at private high-roller fundraisers over Labor Day weekend, according to The New York Times:

“The truth of the matter is that the world has always been messy… in part we’re just noticing now because of social media and our capacity to see in intimate detail the hardships that people are going through.”

“If you watch the nightly news, it feels like the world is falling apart, we are living through some extraordinarily challenging times. I can see why a lot of folks are troubled.”

Yes, Mr. President, the “world is falling apart” and “folks are troubled” but blaming social media makes you and the nation you should be leading look even weaker. More ironic is that ISIS is successfully utilizing social media to recruit members and threaten Americans into thinking an attack is coming any day now.

Before the horrific beheading of American journalist James Foley — and now again today, the beheading of Steven Sotloff — ISIS sent threatening tweets with photos of the White House and a Chicago landmark stating, “We are in your state. We are in your cities. We are in your streets. You are our goals anywhere.”

But we should all feel safe because our president has fundraising goals at the top of his fall agenda and thinks the world has always “been messy.”

Meanwhile, as summer turns into fall and the 9/11 anniversary approaches, Americans are left with two important questions: “Are you ready for some football?”  “Are you ready for some terrorism?”

And, are you ready to pray that ISIS, our enemy famously dismissed by Obama as a JV team is incapable of severely wounding our nation in sudden death overtime?
