From near and far, we have come to America seeking a better life but now the definition of a better life is in dispute. In the beginning, the first settlements in this new land went horribly wrong as individuals were expected to give and receive to the common store, indentured servitude to a form of government or from each according to his ability, to each according to his need. When this societal changed to individual responsibility, especially the responsibility of individual ownership, the starving colonists quickly became a thriving community of individuals. Colonists promptly developed the exceptional personality and characteristic of our foundation, an innate propensity of self worth coupled with the desire of innovation and motivation. This founding value is why so many migrated here, not for a handout but for the Opportunity. We made this ideology more official many years later on with our Declaration of Independence. It became necessary to dissolve these political bands of Europe because of the oppressions imposed by the dictatorship of rights and pledged our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor to a new direction. Each individual owns their Rights, these are God given rights that are Unalienable, and we are endowed by our Creator with certain Unalienable Rights. In Collectivism these Rights come from the government, the government owns these Rights such as Opportunity and not the Individual. Opportunity ought to be Unalienable, Individual, and not a handout from any government as Natural Law dictates there will be abuse of such power.

Opportunity is the growth of wealth, fundamentally, something you dig or grow from the ground, you add value to it in processing and transportation then exchange it in a market. This foundation of wealth dates back to the Roman Empire, it is the foundation our present day wealth and will continue to be our foundation of actual wealth. The less an individual partakes in this commerce the less actual wealth you have as an individual, group or nation. Actual wealth is not a government handout as it is only wealth that is taken from a populace. A dollar is only a note backed by our federal government, a negotiable instrument and is only as good as the faith and credit of the federal government or any other creditor. When a creditor such as our federal government has no actual or tangible wealth to back up a promissory note, other then the ability to tax and borrow it becomes a debtor. Thus, a dollar becomes worthless but the price of actual wealth, “the American Dream” remains the same or the individual Opportunity to contribute in commerce. Because the negotiable instrument we use has become distorted and perverted, the dollar, we now have as the leftists say wealth inequality but more importantly lost Opportunity. The exact details of this economic foundation are worthy of a much longer dissertation but the basic principal that needs to be pointed out here is that big government is destroying Opportunity by providing Opportunity. We will be soon some 20 trillion in national debt, some 120 trillion in unfunded liabilities, and trillions more in local debt yet some leftists argue that our government must be the provider of Opportunity. The leftist argument is national suicide, more wealth inequality, more lost Opportunity for those seeking the true “American Dream” and what amounts to indentured servitude, a tax slave. When Obama took office the national debt was about 10 trillion and when he is gone it will be about 20 trillion, the only Opportunity we have now is to pay our debt.

There is a long list of past abuses of welfare and fraud that has stolen from us but it is not the children we see currently flooding our system we do not trust, as it is the leftist government that must never be trusted again in this. I have seen children running out the back of apartments, change cloths and run in to the next apartment to be counted for welfare. At one time, Cabbage Patch Kids collected welfare (they came with a berth certificate). One parent possibly has over a hundred children, and once they become “anchor babies”, they have a thousand more parents. The privilege of jus soli without regulation has been exploited in the past and is fully expected again. It is not that some are without compassion for the children we see currently flooding our system but the leftist agenda that abuses these children for theft, which deprives them of Opportunity and destroys the wealth of our nation and each Individual.

James Madison explains this issue; “When we are considering the advantages that may result from an easy mode of naturalization, we ought also to consider the cautions necessary to guard against abuse. It is no doubt very desirable that we should hold out as many inducements as possible for the worthy part of mankind to come and settle amongst us, and throw their fortunes into a common lot with ours. But why is this desirable? Not merely to swell the catalogue of people. No, sir, it is to increase the wealth and strength of the community; and those who acquire the rights of citizenship, without adding to the strength or wealth of the community are not the people we are in want of.”

No, sir, we are not in want of, for the lack of better description, professional indigents looking to game the system but do welcome those who would add to the strength or wealth of our community. Those who already have skills that would add to the strength or wealth of our community are welcome, as it ought not to be the burden of any community to provide prosperity as it would be theft from the wealth of our communities. It ought to be clear, the leftist agenda in immigration is what we Declared Independence from, wherein each gives according to his ability at gunpoint and to each according to his need according to what the government requests. We are becoming the Land of Opportunity Lost if we continue this extremist leftist agenda…
