Stacey Abrams: You Know, Democrats Should Really Stop Re-Litigating Past Elections

In this pool image from video, Stacey Abrams delivers the Democratic party's response to President Donald Trump's State of the Union address, Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, from Atlanta. Abrams narrowly lost her bid in November to become America's first black female governor, and party leaders are aggressively recruiting her to run for U.S. Senate from Georgia. Speaking from Atlanta, Abrams calls the shutdown a political stunt that "defied every tenet of fairness and abandoned not just our people, but our values." (Pool video image via AP)

This is not a parody.

Stacey Abrams, somehow managing to possess less self-awareness than CNN’s Brian Stelter, decided to go forth and lecture Democrats on not re-litigating past elections.

This would be the same Stacey Abrams who spent the better part of a year after her Georgia gubernatorial defeat re-ligitating that election by blaming non-existent fraud for her loss. According to Abrams, because a law passed by Democrats years ago required the removal of ineligible voters from the rolls, the carrying out of that law was actually a Republican plot to suppress minority voters.

It was the worst kind of politics, crying racism where none was to be found and outright lying about the reality of the situation. Abrams ended up losing by 50,000 votes. Those removed from the rolls had either moved out of the state or were inactive, meaning they simply needed to register again. No one was stopped from registering to vote and Georgia’s registration rules are fairly lax to begin with. The idea that Abrams lost a single vote due to the purging of voter rolls has never garnered a single piece of evidence to back it up.

Yet, here’s Abrams hilariously lecturing Democrats on not focusing on past elections when the only reason Abrams maintains some sense of notoriety is because she has continually focused on past elections. You can’t make this stuff up.
