If there’s one thing RedState and the Townhall Media family is known for, it’s trying to reach out to America’s families and truly listen to how they deal with this sometimes chaotic world we live in. A few days ago, one Florida family found itself in crisis.

WEAR-TV reported on the tragedy that affected them, which took place in the Pensacola area:

A Milton Tom Thumb clerk was shot and killed during a robbery early Tuesday morning.

The incident happened at the Tom Thumb on Glover Lane around 1:36 a.m.

Milton Police say the suspect is at large. They are described as a black male wearing a camouflaged hoodie, armed with a pistol.

Police say the victim has been identified as 40-year-old Lee Ann Parker.

The article also included some security cam images of the suspected robber from the police department’s Facebook page:

A family member of the victim, Leeann Parker, added on Twitter that there’s a $3,000 reward for information:

The family in crisis is Leeann’s. On Wednesday, that family member — her cousin Britanny Parker — started a GoFundMe account so that people can show their support.

She explained  that the money will be used only “to assist Leeann’s husband and two sons in the days to come”:

Leann Parker, a beloved daughter, sister, wife and mother was taken far too soon.

In the early morning hours of September 15th, 2020, Leann Parker was shot and killed during a robbery at her work.

Many details surrounding this incident are unclear, but we are asking the community for support during this difficult time. 100% of funds collected here will go to Leann’s family.

This fund is established to cover funeral and burial expenses, mental and grief counseling,  and to assist Leann’s husband and two sons in the days to come as they continue to seek justice for Leann.

A friend of the family reached out to my colleague at Bearing Arms, Cam Edwards to see if he could find them some support by sharing their story.

He did, retweeting this call to action to his Twitter followers.

Ending in a couple heart emojis and displaying an image of Leeann, it reads:

This mom, the mother of two teen boys, was murdered in a strong arm robbery. No one deserves to be murdered for just doing their job as a store clerk. The GoFundMe could use some help. Please donate if you are able.

In just over 24 hours, the GoFundMe has raised nearly $7,000 of the $10,000 goal. If you’d like to support Leeann’s family, you can by dropping by the GoFundMe page. Remember that prayers count as helping, too.

Editor’s note: the article contained an numerical error (“$70,000 of the $100,000 goal”), which was corrected after publication.
