You probably know Donald Trump’s views on Russia, impeachment, and ladies at The View. And a whole lot of other things going on in Washington.

But what does he think of the culture, including its capacity for cancelling people?

Including him…

During an interview with The Daily Caller’s Stephanie Hamill, Jr. waxed philosophic on such zeroing out, racism, and men competing against women in sports.

Don noted that, in his #1 book Triggered, he shares accounts of celebrities’ and Democratic politicians’ treatment of his family given their swing over to the Republican side.

Just before his father announced his campaign for president on June 16th, 2015, Trump Jr. recounted, the future Commander-in-Chief told him, “Now we’ll find out who our real friends are.”

Did they end up having any?

His dad’s words ended up being profound:

“[I]t could not have been more true. I mean, the second he announced he’s a conservative, all of a sudden, that’s when all those people, like, ‘Aw, he’s this, he’s that, he’s that.’ I’m like, ‘Well, that didn’t stop you from having dinner with us last month.’ … I mean, heck, Whoopi (who, he’s claimed, wouldn’t shake his hand on the set of The View) was at one of the last finales of The Celebrity Apprentice hanging out with us backstage. That’s all sort of forgotten because everyone has their talking points, everyone has the side. And if you’re a conservative, once you pick that side, the other side’s mind is already made up.”

Jr. also talked about the “Easy button of leftist politics”: accusations of racism.

OHHHHHH YEAH.

“Everything’s racist. … It’s sort of like, ‘I can’t win an argument with facts…Racist!’ ‘I’m not doing so…Racist!’ ‘I don’t like you or your policies…Racist’ … If you listen to the Left, it’s literally the cause of every problem in this country. And that’s just not the reality. … [T]he problem is, when they use it to try to win arguments that facts, numbers — where it doesn’t add up, you do a huge disservice to those who are actually afflicted.”

Don referenced something I’ve said many times here at RedState — before the President added an “R” to his name, he wasn’t called racist. In fact, he mentored black cultural influencer Russell Simmons, and he was regularly hailed in rap:

“He was never called that before. He was in 150 different rap songs where he was idolized as a businessman, as a, as that guy in pop culture. So many of the people that are the leading advocates of this, I’m like, I don’t know, ‘We’ve had dinner 15 times. When we’re around and we’re not on camera, you still talk to me like we’ve known each other.'”

And here’s something to imagine:

“Al Sharpton, when he needed a place to live in New York, he called me for a reference to get set up in an apartment.”

Jr. thinks there’s a lot of phoniness goin’ round:

“And that’s the problem with so much of politics like that — it’s all an act.”

Sad:

“And when you’re on that side, that’s the soundbite, that’s the talking point, that’s what you gotta do, and 4 years of prior friendship is all forgotten. Or even acquaintanceship.”

As for cancel culture, he backs Martina Navratilova, who came under fire for speaking against men beating the pants off of (or out of) women.

“One of the leading sort of LGBT activists — 35 years before it was cool to be one. She was doing it, and it’s as though she has done nothing in her entire career for them.”

Don’s not a fan of dudes dominating chicks:

“I have a daughter that’s very athletic. I don’t want her competing against a guy.”

And how ’bout those feminists?

“There’s an MMA fighter that transitioned to become a female. … Fights a female fighter who was top of her game, incredible athlete, spent her life trying to master that art. Fractures her orbital bone, her skull. Every weightlifting record is being broken, track and field records are being broken. Again, as a father of an athletic daughter, I’m like, ‘Where are the feminists?’ … Honestly, they don’t wanna get in front of that freight train.”

But he’s gotten some unlikely support — he said a lot of people who’d usually not want to do so have responded to his position on transgender sports with, “I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I’m with Don on this one.”

It sounds like it ain’t easy being a Trump.

It must’ve been, prior to 2015.

But now?

It seems like they’re primed for a saying in Washington, as noted by Stephanie:

“In DC, they say, ‘If you want a friend, get a dog.'”

Sounds ruff.
