A few months ago, Palin officially endorsed John McCommie for a FIFTH Senatorial term and excused herself with lies. She also falsely called McCommie a “hero” and a “statesman”.
Recently, McCain’s spokesman announced that Palin will organize a rally and a fundraiser for McTraitor.
“She will speak about McCain’s values and what she learned from him during their 2008 presidential campaign and through his battles against his own party line, Rogers said.”
The URL: http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2010/03/preview-of-palin-campaign-rally-for.html
Oh yes, McCain DID battle against his own party. Most recently, McTraitor battled his party over the Obama defense cuts, which most Republicans opposed, but McCain endorsed. These defense cuts began the process of gutting the US military, a process which continues to this day.
Previously, McCain fought against his own party to implement an amnesty policy, which would’ve rewarded 20 mn illegal aliens with green cards and “a path to citizenship” while allowing ACORN to register these 20 mn illegal aliens.
Not surprisingly, McCain plans to vote for the newly-introduced Schumer-Graham amnesty bill. He never renounced amnesty.
If Palin was a real conservative, she would’ve never endorsed him. She would’ve remained neutral on the issue of the McCain-Hayworth duel. Instead, she endorsed him.
And guess what? Palin admitted during the 2008 campaign that she supports amnesty (which she euphemistically calls “a path to citizenship”). Proof:
“Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
SP: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America.”
The URL: http://www.univision.com/content/content.jhtml?chid=3&schid=10414&secid=25534&cid=1716304&pagenum=2
Of course, Univision does not call these immigrants whom they really are – illegal immigrants. But it has revealed that Palin is a proponent of amnesty.
Let’s face the facts: Palin is a RINO, a fake conservative, a traitor.
And so I say to Sarah Palin: keep your hands off the GOP, off Arizona, and off the White House. You have betrayed us conservatives, the GOP, and the United States. Together with your idol, John McTraitor, you’ve sold America out to illegal aliens who invaded the country. You have no right to call yourself a Republican, a conservative, a leader of the GOP or a leader of conservatives. If you dare to run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, I can assure you that you will not win it.

Palin does not support amnesty.
Mary Beth (Diary) Wednesday, March 24th at 6:22AM EST (link)And she’s not perfect…but she’s certainly not a fake conservative.
I take the stuff she said during the campaign with a grain of salt as it would have been bad form for her to contradict the top of the ticket. She has since made it clear that she’s not for amnesty for illegals.
As for McCain, if she had done anything other than support John McCain she would have been called an ingrate.
But thanks for playing.

Bill S (Diary) Wednesday, March 24th at 2:19PM EST (link)And that’s one reason I’ve been a bit on the annoying side on this topic of late. There really needs to be some room for wiggle. Even the “loyalty pledge” thingy that came out a few months ago gave the signer some leeway to disagree on (IIRC) 2-3 points.
We don’t all agree on everything. Frankly, I think there may be some room for negotiation on the immigration front. There are even some fiscal things that might look “progressive” that some of us may support…Francis gave an example of that in his diary yesterday.
Conservatives are not homogenous like leftists. There are multiple legs on the stool, and sometimes they’re different lengths.

acat (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 12:15AM EST (link)One of the things I appreciate about your writing, Vassar, is that you define what it is that you believe. Whether I, as your reader, agree or not is up to me, but at least I know where you stand, and have an idea or two about why.
I don’t have much use for labels. Over time, the meaning can change. Take, for instance, the “net neutrality bill”.
To a techie such as myself, “net neutrality” means that everybody’s packets are equal, that is, Comcast can’t prioritize my packets over yours even if I pay more. Comcast can sell me a bigger “pipe” that will carry *more* packets (for more money, of course) but they’ll all be moved through Comcasts’ plumbing at the same rate. Since the original threat was that Comcast would prioritize packets from one web site over another, I am all for this definition of “neutrality”.
Somewhere along the way, “net neutrality” has, apparently, changed into some sort of “internet fairness doctrine” where search engines need to pull up documents on both sides of any remotely undecided issue. This is lunacy and, I suspect, a big dollop of misinformation. In any event, I’m opposed to this definition.
The original meanings of “right” and “left” have also changed over time, from their origins in France, IIRC. I find “left” and “right”, as well as “conservative” and “liberal” to be somewhat amorphous. I like Pournelle’s Axes more, although it’s tough to find many people who use them. http://www.baen.com/chapters/axes.htm

“P.S. Treason has a specific meaning. You clearly do not understand it.”
I understand it better than you ever will, kid. By the strict definition of the word “traitor”, Sarah Palin is a traitor, because she (and John McTraitor) sold the US out to 20 million invaders who dislike the US but believe they are entitled to Green Cards.
As for the others who claimed that there are more important issues than this one – there is no issue more important than amnesty. If amnesty is not prevented, the Republic will collapse and the Democratic majority will become a permanent majority. So EVERY Republican who endorsed amnesty (AKA “a pathway to citizenship”) must be labeled as a traitor.

Palin is absolutely a Conservative!
retiretherinos (Diary) Wednesday, March 24th at 1:12PM EST (link)I would be happy if the rest of he republican party was conservative like Palin. I believe she is only conservative of the big five likely candidates. I would like to see her run in 2012. That would mean that we have at least one conservative running 2012. In 2008, Conservatives had no real choices for president with McCain, Rudy, Romney, and Hucka-phony. I had supported Hucka-phony in 2008 initially. I think she will run in 2012 and it wishful thinking on the left and the elist republicans part that she won’t run. I know she will run and I hope she wins.

Hear her on Fox News 2 or 3 times a week.
And she’s getting daily briefings from experts on foreign and domestic issues. Which certainly helps in articulating and fighting the issues in 2010 … and in 2012.
So she’s doing nothing to take herself out of the running for 2012. But she’s focused on 2010.
A good strategy for Red Staters, too, I might add…

Palin Had No Choice
qsclues (Diary) Wednesday, March 24th at 4:45PM EST (link)I wrote in a previous diary entry how Palin really had no choice to to endorse McCain, given that he is largely responsible for the high-profile position she is in today. Not saying she had nothing to do with it, but she isn’t there without his help. If she didn’t endorse him, the media would have a field day calling her an ungrateful backstabber.
Do they agree on everything? Certainly not. But politically, Palin has no choice but to endorse McCain. It shouldn’t take much thought to realize that.

zbigniewmazurak (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 4:18AM EST (link)After a consideration, I have decided to apologize about what I wrote about Sarah Palin for the simple reason that, whereas her amnesty policy is wrong, I was wrong to attack her with the words “traitor” and “fake conservative”, which were grossly exaggerated.

This sounds like half an apology.
Justin_Case (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 7:22AM EST (link)It has been stated, above, Palin’s reasons for her position on amnesty in 2008, yet you can’t resist the little dig of yours: whereas her amnesty policy is wrong.
Her amnesty policy IS wrong.
zbigniewmazurak (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 9:00AM EST (link)And it will always be wrong, regardless of everything else. Her reasons for her amnesty policy are unknown; the claims of some of her defenders that she was forced to adopt the amnesty policy because of her running mate are utterly false because she professed (and continues to profess) opinions different from McCain’s beliefs on several other issues. For example:
1) Palin defended the F-22 and C-17 programs; McCain opposed them..
2) Palin opposed (and still opposes) school vouchers; McCain favored them.
3) Palin wants to drill in the ANWR; McCain is opposed.
I said, ‘whereas her amnesty policy is wrong’, because that’s the truth. Amnesty IS wrong, even if its masked under the guise of “a path to citizenship”. That doesn’t mean that I should call Palin a traitor. But it DOES mean that Palin’s amnesty policy is wrong. It’s time to recognize what is right and what is wrong. Palin’s amnesty policy is wrong. And if she plans to run for the White House, she will eventually be forced by GOP voters to recognize this fact.
Put up or shut up.
mikerazar (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 9:27AM EST (link)You cited three positions for each of them, yet gave no link or reference to back them up.
For the record, I oppose amnesty (with a few exceptions like military service), I favor school vouchers with some accountability rules.
I cannot be objective on the F-22. Seeing it or even thinking about it makes my knees weaker than a preteen girl’s at a Jonas Brothers concert. But money is not unlimited and McCain understands the needs of the military a hell of a lot better than I do. I’d give up my social security for a fleet of F-22s but I’m not sure that’s an issue to expect unanimity on.
We have a nation to save, people.
The F-22 program
zbigniewmazurak (Diary) Thursday, March 25th at 9:39AM EST (link)The links:
1) Vouchers: http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/34928
2) The F-22 and C-17 programs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_Sarah_Palin; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_positions_of_John_McCain
3) The ANWR: same as the links for #2.
As for the F-22 program: McCain was wrong to oppose the F-22 program, as proven by the facts, not by what McCain might or might not understand. The F-35 program is failing and lagging, while the Russians are developing 5th generation fighterplanes (Sukhoi PAKFA aircraft) and Generation #4++ aircraft (e.g. Su-35BMs). But my point was not to defend the F-22 program (which shouldn’t have been closed, BTW), but to demonstrate that on at least 3 issues, including 2 crucial issues, Palin and McCain professed (and continue to profess) different opinions.
A fourth issue is that McCain opposes overturning Roe v. Wade (he said, “I would not support the overturning of Roe v. Wade), while Palin wants Roe v. Wade overturned and the right to decide abortion laws to be reserved for the states.
