“John McCain’s Health Care Plan.
First we learn he’s going to tax health care benefits to pay for part of it. Now the Wall Street Journal reports John McCain would pay for the rest of his health care plan with major reductions to Medicare and Medicaid: $882 billion from Medicare alone, requiring cuts in benefits and eligibility or both. John McCain — taxing health benefits — cutting Medicare. We can’t afford John McCain.
I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.”
Fast forward 18 months, and Obama has signed into law the Exact. Same. Thing. this attack ad falsely claimed John McCain’s health care plan would do. The ObamaCare law has not only cut a half trillion dollars from Medicaid, but has instituted a tax on high cost health care plans (see Cadillac tax).
This attack ad is pure hypocritical gold for Republicans, and must be resurrected immediately.

And Zach is right, when we discover this kind of hypocrisy and flip-flopping, we need to shout it from the housetops. Keep the pressure on and November can be VERY successful!

Hold your horses.
usadying (Diary) Friday, April 2nd at 11:54PM EST (link)I think it’s more of a statement that McCain is at heart a progressive. He has suddenly become a conservative on the campaign trail, but I don’t trust him as far as I can throw him. Try listening to Meghan McCain’s vitriole. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. And she has cooled it while dad is running for re-election. Just wait til December. She will resume screaming, and her dad will again reach across the aisle.
