		<description>Even if a constitutional convention were called, I really doubt we could get 3/4 of the state legislatures to agree on anything. Even the prospect of giving themselves the power to appoint senators would be a tough sell. Plenty of states have senior senators who bring home the bacon with their seniority. There&#039;s a stilt to this for the Democratic party because the party that believes in limited government tends to attract candidates who are more interested in limited their own time in government. Odds are good that even if a constitutional convention was called, its proposed amendments would never be ratified.</description>
