Praying With the Enemy

Okay…so I’ve suspected all along that Obama is a Muslim and he has proven himself a liar and liberal extremist of the worst (Communist/Marxist/Socialist/name your “ist”) kind, but today in church I learned that literally hurt me, both spiritually and physically: my heart broke.

I hadn’t heard this on FoxNews and I didn’t see any posts written here about the National Day of Muslim Prayer to be held in Washington D. C. on Friday, September 25, 2009. 50,000 Muslims are expected to join together and offer prayers to Allah from 7am to 4:00pm (I think the times are correct) in our Capital city.

The government of our great country, founded upon Christian principles and God’s Law, is welcoming mass prayer to an anti-god in its capital city! Will O. show up? How many of our law makers will be there in a show of heathen political correctness? Will the msm cover this event and praise it for being so open-mindedly wonderful?

In the Scriptures you will find that whenever a country or city turned from the one, true God, the repercussions were tremendous. The U.S. has been turning from the Lord for a long time now, and this may just be the move that seals our fate. My comfort comes in knowing that He is in control, and as my pastor put it: “God is the majority, so what have we to fear?” I’ll be praying on Wednesday, the Christian National Day of Prayer, but I will more fervently lift my cries to Heaven on Friday. May God have mercy on us all.

Okay…so let me get this straight:

in the country I love, a cruel, despicable, famous monster can torture and kill innocent animals for fun and profit, serve a little time, and go back to his favorite hobby and make millions while feigning humility and repentance, all to the applause of his fans. The City of Brotherly Love is embracing someone who displayed anything but love because they want to win the Super Bowl. Granted, there are plenty of people who were and forever will be turned off to Michael Vic because of the atrocities he committed, but there are also plenty who feel that he did his time, so let’s just move on. After all, he’s a football star! He’s a hero!

Wait a minute…maybe it’s not such a great idea to hail this guy as a hero, football or otherwise. When I was watching the press conference where the announcement was made that he’d be playing for Philadelphia, his humility didn’t ring true to me. In my opinion, if he was truly repentant and really wanted to make a positive difference with his second chance, his goal wouldn’t necessarily be to reach stardom again. A more appropriate goal might be to open and run a not-for-profit rescue and no-kill animal shelter. All he really wants is to pick up where he left off before he got caught. Hmmm…take away the blood and gore and it sounds a little like Martha Stewart. And, yes, I realize and acknowledge that many murderers of human beings are let off far too easily in our “justice” system, but that doesn’t excuse this. Where is the real penalty? Sure he lost 18 months, but so what? I’m sure he was a star in the joint too.

And, what’s going on in America when honest to goodness crooks and thugs are in charge of just about everything? We’ve got Chicago hoods running the whole show, and just like they’ve destroyed Illinois, they are intent upon crushing our country and her spirit. I spoke with my mother today. She lives in Illinois and it’s State Fair time. On the news last night the local station made a huge deal about the fact that Blago actually paid $5.00, right out of his own pocket, to get in the gate. Wow! What a great guy! I ask you: why is this news? How about covering the story about all of the people in an around Springfield who are out of work and can’t afford $5.00 to go to the fair? Shhhhh!

Speaking of shhhhh! Have you heard the latest on talk radio? There is a push from the Left to penalize privately owned conservative and/or religious radio stations to the tune of their entire annual operating budget! There is no way these stations could survive. I guess that’s one way to shut them up.

And, I never thought I’d say this, but poor Hillary. Yeah, I know, just hear me out. Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State, “School girl,” wife of Bill Clinton the sleaze, who stole her thunder by being the rescuing hero of Al Gore’s employees, has been so used that my heart sort of goes out to her. (Stop yelling at me! ) She took the dangling carrot of power and fame when it was offered only to find that all of the power had been re-distributed to others in the administration. When was the last time you saw The One and Hill together? Ummmm. It seems that there is no relationship there at all. Lets face it, Obama chose her to get her out of the way. Now, she is no threat at all. Unless………

I keep telling myself that there must be at least one brave, disillusioned, liberal soul out there who is ticked off about being deceived by the Messiah. There must be someone who has had their eyes opened with the news that’s trickling through the msm. Remember Watergate? Maybe Hillary herself will be the one who gets ticked off enough to expose the truth. She was pretty ticked off at the student who mistakenly asked her about what Bill might think. Whew! I bet that lady can be down right scary when the camera is off. She’s definitely got “chutzpah,” as my mom said, you’ve got to give her that much. Do I agree with her politically? No. Do I think she’s a wonderful, selfless person? No. But I can feel badly for her anyway. I’m sure she was positively giddy with the prospect of having all that Secretary of State power and prestige. This has to be tough for her; the bigger the ego…

The new school year is starting up and yesterday I attended a teacher training when a colleague made a comment about how Obama is a socialist. Of course he wasn’t being serious, he was mocking. I did jump in and agree that Obama is a socialist, fascist, and just about every other “ist” out there. He snapped back, “Oh, you must be one of those Rush Limbaugh lovers.” I said that I was and he just shook his head in disgust. I’m sure it will be around the whole school in no time. Oh well, I can live with that.

It’s sometimes difficult to recognize my country these days. It’s embarrassing watching the Organizer in Chief running around the country desperately promoting his programs. It’s unbelievable to me that a monster can be a millionaire hero. It’s crazy that the Secretary of State of the United States of America is viewed as an ineffectual schoolgirl.

I am encouraged, though, by our grassroots movement. We aren’t alone and our voices are being heard, but whether we will be listened to remains to be seen. Like I’ve said before, it’s going to be a long, exhausting 3 ½ years. Let’s commit to pray for each other and the country we love.

A Lighter Side of Right:)

I received the following in my e-mail today. Hopefully, it will produce a smile, maybe even a little chuckle. I know I need one, maybe everyone else does too

The History of The World 101: Let the Truth be Known.

For those who don’t know about our history, here is a condensed version:

Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic
hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and
would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.

The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer
and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer.
These were the foundation of modern civilization and together were the
catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups:

1. Liberals and 2. Conservatives.

Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of
agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can was invented yet, so
while our early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented,
they just stayed close to the brewery. That’s how villages were formed.

Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to B-B-Q at night
while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the
Conservative movement.

Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off
the Conservatives by showing up for the nightly B-B-Q’s and doing the sewing,
fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal movement.

Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. The rest became
known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the
domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of
Democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that Conservatives provided.

Over the years Conservatives came to be symbolized by the largest, most
powerful land animal on earth… the elephant. Liberals are symbolized by
the jackass

Modern liberals like imported beer (with lime added), but most prefer white
wine or imported bottled water. They eat raw fish but like their beef well
done. Sushi, tofu, and French food is standard liberal fare. Another
interesting evolutionary side note: most of their women have higher
testosterone levels than their men. Most social workers, personal injury
attorneys, journalists, dreamers in Hollywood and group therapists are
liberals. Liberals invented the designated hitter rule because it wasn’t
fair to make the pitcher also bat.

Conservatives drink domestic beer, mostly Coors. They eat red meat and still
provide for their women. Conservatives are big-game hunters, rodeo cowboys,
lumberjacks, construction workers, firemen, medical doctors, police officers, corporate executives, athletes, members of the military, airline pilots and generally anyone who works productively. Conservatives who own companies hire other conservatives who want to work for a living.

Liberals produce little or nothing. They like to govern the producers and
decide what to do with the production. Liberals believe Europeans are more
enlightened than Americans. That is why most of the liberals remained in
Europe when conservatives were coming to America. They crept in after the
Wild West was tamed and created a business of trying to get more for nothing.

Here ends today’s lesson in world history.

Interesting perspective, huh?

Here’s one the MSM won’t show you!

I’m watching a town hall meeting in PA as I write this.

At the beginning Specter was listening to a very unhappy gentleman, who asked a question that Specter wouldn’t answer because the man didn’t have a numbered card. Understandably, the man got very upset and walked out of the meeting, but not before he had his say. At this point, Specter declared, “That was an example of democracy in action. Remember, I didn’t have to come here today. I don’t get paid for being here” (paraphrased). The crowd reacted unhappily to this, but not unreasonably.

Specter claims that he will not vote for a health care plan that adds to the deficit, but has no answers about how it will be funded. One gentleman asked Specter if he would make a commitment to work on the problems regarding illegal immigration, TORT reform, etc. rather than throw out the health care system that is working for most of the country. Specter pretty much blew him off and moved on to the next question.

Another gentleman made a reference to the astro-turf group, stating that he was not a member, and made it clear that nobody paid or told him to attend the meeting. He, too, felt that other changes, like Tort Reform, would be a more effective solution to the health care problem, and suggested that we give non- citizens an airplane ticket home like New York does. He also felt that the current bill leads to a single payer system. He stated: “We are not scared, but we want to be able to trust, and we don’t.” He also encouraged the senator to go back and propose a bill for term limits. This suggestion was met with enthusiastic applause. Specter’s response was that he can be voted out…”that’s democracy.”

Another audience member said that she didn’t want the government to determine where she donated her money. Specter’s response: “I will not support a bill that gives the government the right to find out what any citizen has in the bank.”

The seventeenth question was posed by a gentleman who began by telling Specter that he had supported him as a candidate, but he (Specter) had defected. He went on the voice his concerns regarding some problems with the Obama government: “Our liberties and freedoms are eroding. What about Gitmo? Did you ever read the Koran, senator? I have. All unbelievers must be killed. We don’t want this in our country…” Specter: “…Congress has spoken and insisted that Gitmo remain open until there is a plan…next question.”

Question number 19 was: Why does the government want to buy a car company that makes cars nobody wants?

Specter: “There’s no sensible answer to that…we are trying to give people a job, trying to keep a lot of dealers open…by directing GM to stop making cars that nobody wants to buy…we want them to restructure what they are doing…let them fail? The calculation is that they can be saved.”

Specter’s dander was raised when a woman asked a question about Section 1233 of the plan. She informed him: “As a 74 year-old man with cancer we would write you off according to the plan.” Specter was immediately defensive and yelled: “That is a vicious rumor! Next question.”

Another gentleman asked two questions. One about Card Check and one about Cap and Trade. “Thank you for opposing this! But high pressure salesmanship is still in force. A time line of 5-10 days to make up our mind is high pressure…and Cap and Trade will increase our electric bills by 40-50%. This will decimate what is left of our industrial sector. There will be a mass exodus of manufacturing to other countries.”

Specter: “…on Cap and Trade, we haven’t gotten a bill in the senate…we will take it up and see that we don’t lose jobs because of a tax. As far as the time line for a secret ballot, we will make sure that sufficient time is allowed for people to make up their minds. Next question.”

Another man stated that he had lived in Canada, where he paid a 60% tax rate for “free” healthcare, and had also lived in London for two years. He felt that those systems were eerily like this bill. His question touched on the requirement for seniors to have mandatory counseling for dying with dignity. He stated that he is offended by this requirement.

Specter: “I’m opposed to mandatory counseling…We can get it if we want to…It’s a personal decision.”

One of the last questions came from a disabled vet. He opened by saying: “I respect you for being who you are… [but] this is only the beginning to what is happening to America. We have a bunch of bureaucrats who are robbing us blind. Tell Washington that you are an American first… I don’t care what party you are. Would you go back and represent us as Americans first and tell Obama that he is an American?” Specter: “Yes, I will represent Americans.”

Most of the questions posed were delivered by Republicans. They thanked the Senator for attending the meeting, spoke in reasonable voices, etc. They were very respectful even though they were obviously upset; many of their hands were shaking as they posed their questions. One woman stood up in support of the bill and nobody booed or ridiculed her. Not very radical of those extremist conservatives, huh? It was a joy to watch democracy in action.

Conservatives need to keep putting the feet of the politicians to the fire in this way. Let’s not give the thugs any ammunition against us. If we come off as violently as they do we are no better. I know that I quote Scripture a lot in my diaries, and I’ll do it again: Proverbs 15:1-2 (KJV) says, “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.” Consider the voice of Marco Rubio vs. Harry Reid. Need I say more?

Horrors in Education!

As it is about time to return to school I just had to let you know about something I read recently in “neatoday” magazine that absolutely horrified me.

First, let me say that I teach English in a public high school, and I did join the union only because I may need protection in case I am falsely accused of something; I could never afford a lawyer on my own. That said, I am pretty much anti-union in general. Anyway, I receive this magazine quarterly and leaf through it to see what the union is talking about and working toward. Of course, their lips are attached to the rear of The One, that is no surprise, but I read something in the “bulletinboard” section of the magazine that made me literally cry out (page 46, Fall 2009 edition). This is a section in the magazine where teachers share their “wonderful” ideas. Here is one of them:

Title: A New Pledge
Author:	Michael Szewczyk, fourth grade teacher, Irvington, New Jersey.

“Each morning, public school students have to stand and salute the flag by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. After my students complete the Pledge in its standard form, we repeat it in a kid-friendly style that is more understandable and meaningful to them [emphasis added]. Here is the version we created together: ‘I promise my faithfulness to the banner of the United States of America and to our government, for which it stands, one country under God, for which we will stick together, and freedom and fairness for all’” [emphasis added].

Yikes! Fourth graders! I expect maybe next he will teach them all a really cool salute! At least he kept God in his version, but this is appalling to me. My prayer is that parents wake up and keep abreast of what is being taught to their children. I was a “pain in the neck” parent when my daughter was in school, but, by golly, I knew what was going on. I teach about 180 students each year, but only a handful of parents keep in touch with me on a regular basis. Scary!

The best defense against this kind of indoctrination is a strong offense. Parents, teach your children well. Instill in them honesty, patriotism, and integrity. Demonstrate a love of God and country in your own life; remember…kids learn by what we do, not by what we say.

The Nose of the Camel is Inside the Tent: and there ain’t a back door!

“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America:” Obama’s words while on the campaign trail. You can’t say that he lied out there. He told Americans exactly what he intended to do, and he’s doing it. He asked if he could come into the tent, and America said, “Yes!”

**********************************************************************
The Camel’s Nose In The Tent

One cold night, as an Arab sat in his tent, a camel gently thrust his nose under the flap and looked in. “Master,” he said, “let me put my nose in your tent. It’s cold and stormy out here.” “By all means,” said the Arab, “and welcome” as he turned over and went to sleep.

A little later the Arab awoke to find that the camel had not only put his nose in the tent but his head and neck also. The camel, who had been turning his head from side to side, said, “I will take but little more room if I place my forelegs within the tent. It is difficult standing out here.” “Yes, you may put your forelegs within,” said the Arab, moving a little to make room, for the tent was small.

Finally, the camel said, “May I not stand wholly inside? I keep the tent open by standing as I do.” “Yes, yes,” said the Arab. “Come wholly inside. Perhaps it will be better for both of us.” So the camel crowded in. The Arab with difficulty in the crowded quarters again went to sleep. When he woke up the next time, he was outside in the cold and the camel had the tent to himself.
*************************************************************************

I was watching Glenn Beck last night and he used a really good word to describe what Obama, his administration, and the rest of his lemmings are doing: nudging. Think about it. Have you ever been on a crowded elevator, subway, or bus? Ever notice how when you first get on, perhaps, there is plenty of room, but as the ride continues more and more people get on and you find yourself squeezed in slowly; but you are able to adjust and shuffle so that the discomfort is averted for a short time. As you reach the end of the line, however, you have been nudged such that there is no room to move, and you long for the door to open so that you can spill out into the open air. That’s what is happening to us. We are being nudged into submission, and soon we’ll be gasping for air.

While it seems like Obama is ramming a lot down our throats overtly, much of his true agenda is covert. What the health bill intends to do, for instance, is not kick everyone off of their private health plans. That would be too overt. What it says in the small print is, if I understand it correctly, that if a person loses their job provided health plan, or their own private health plan for any reason, they can no longer have private health coverage. They will have to join the government run program with no hope of escape. Things will slowly change to a 100% government run health care system by removing options.

Obama is indeed fundamentally changing America. He has given us Tim Geitner, a tax evader, for a Treasury Secretary; he’s taken over the banks and auto industry, and a disciple of FDR and the 2nd Bill of Rights, Cass Sunstein, is slated to be the Regulatory Czar. This is scary stuff and would provide good fodder for any psychiatrist brave enough to delve into the Progressive mind. Our only hope is that Obama will hit the campaign trail soon (like he ever left!) for the 2012 election (that seems to be his M. O. once he’s elected to office), and that will distract him from doing too much more damage.

America would do well to consider the tale. We’ve let the nose of the camel inside the tent and we are only beginning to be nudged to the side. There is no escape, no back door. We will be forced out through the “flap” into the cold, dark night without a flashlight if we continue to sleep. Once there, it will be a long walk back, if we can ever find our way home.

Compromise and the Winds of Change

I’m sorry.

We’ve been careless and we see the error of our ways now.

We’ll do it your way.

Please forgive us.

Please love us.

I could puke.

If I hear one more apology from Obama, Clinton, or Geitner I’m going to scream. What are they doing!? America has had more positive impact on our world than any county on the planet, and our great leaders are apologizing? Not only are they apologizing, they seem to be begging the world to like us. And what is the world’s response? They are blowing us off like a hot summer breeze, and, I believe, laughing at us. Russia and Italy blew off Obama; India blew off Clinton, and Geitner is running around the world begging the countries who own us not to sell their interests because it will devastate our economy. Do you think he’ll be blown off too? The world is shaking its collective head over us in pity and it’s embarrassing.

And why are terrorists allowed to hold a conference, aka recruiting seminar, in a hotel in Chicago? What on earth is that all about? These people are trying to kill us, are killing us, and live to kill us! Talk about compromising! I know, I know…freedom of speech and the right to assemble. It just makes me sick that terrorists feel free to flaunt their violent ideology on American soil, in Obama’s Chicago, while our personal freedoms are being stripped away. Even more disconcerting is the comfort these terrorists have in planning and executing the seminar. There is no fear because they know that our president is a weak and ineffectual leader, intent upon holding hands with the world, dictators and killers included. Soon these seminars will be held all over the country, drawing in young men and women with the promise of power and everlasting joy with Allah. (All those virgins will be a big draw for the young men.)

You know, maybe our leaders should be apologizing. But not to the world, to us. Our leaders should be ashamed that groups intent upon destroying our country have lost all respect for us and feel free to spew their venomous hatred as they seek to grow larger and more powerful in a posh hotel in one of the most famous cities in the world. They should hang their heads and acknowledge that compromise and quid pro quo have ruled decision making for too long, and the Republic has paid a dear price. This is their country, their home, and in the interest of self-interest and personal agendas they seem as intent upon destroying it as our enemies.

The winds of change are indeed blowing. The era of looking out for number one must end. Let us not be defensive, but let us defend our great country with everything we have. We need to stop paying attention to most of what the MSM, extreme liberals, and others are saying; it’s a waste of time to argue with lunatics. Let us act instead of re-act. Let us commit to hit our knees and humble ourselves before our God. When He moves in the hearts of men, great leaders will emerge. It’s past time to kick off the dust from our feet; we must look forward, and fight forward.

It’s Unsettling

Okay…we have a “cool” president. That really doesn’t do much to help me sleep at night. Let’s look at the differences between Obama and President Bush (emphasis intentional).

To begin, I hang out with teenagers a lot because I’m a high school teacher. If there is one thing I know it’s this…teens don’t want the adults in their lives to act like kids. Oh, they might think that so-and-so’s parents are really “awesome’ or their science teacher “rocks,” but when it comes down to it they want the leaders in their lives to act like grown-ups, someone they can count on to guide them, keep them safe. They want us to be responsible and trustworthy. I have never missed a day of teaching; my kids know that they can count on me to be there, to do my job. Yes, some kids think I’m “cool” or “fun,” but they also know that I’m in charge and that I take my job seriously. It’s nice that most of them like me, but it does not drive me or influence my decisions, and they know it. Back to “O.”

Our president is supposed to be the adult in charge, and I find his “coolness” disconcerting. His swagger as he exits Air Force One and his strut across the lawn as he waves at reporters makes me feel like I’m watching the high school quarterback walk across the field at the beginning of the homecoming game. And the way he literally looks down his nose as he reads from TOTUS (maybe he needs glasses?)…well, it makes me cringe. And, good grief, he just couldn’t get much “cooler” than when he walked onto the field to throw that pitch in his baggy jeans and tennis shoes. And it’s not the jeans or shoes that bother me, it’s the way he wears them. He might as well be holding a flashing sign, “Look at me! See how cool I am? Aren’t you lucky to have such an awesome leader?” I feel like the popular guy at high school is running the show. It’s embarrassing.

I think back to 911 and the decision to go to war. I remember how President Bush behaved; strength with dignity describes it for me. He didn’t pretend to have all of the answers, but he took control of the situation; he was a calming influence for the country, I believe. I know that I trusted him to deal with the calamity. Did I agree with everything he did as President? No, but I always admired him in that he made his decisions based on what he felt was best for the country, not what would make him well liked. I took comfort in his faith in God. I had peace knowing that he sought the will of his Father in heaven when big decisions had to be made.

What it boils down to is this…I don’t feel safe with our leader. I’m embarrassed by him because I think most of the world views him as I do: a naïve incompetent. I think they are laughing at us as we circle the bowl and it saddens me. Most telling was “O’s” speech in Italy. He was obviously knocked off his game because he was pretty much blown off during his trip, and by the time he got to Italy he was a wreck. It did my heart good to see him reading his notes from the podium…he wasn’t looking down his nose that day. What a difference when he came home to his adoring audience when he boldly declared that he was going to get his policies pushed through contrary to the “chatter” that occurred while he was gone.

I don’t want to be led by a frat boy; I want a President. I don’t want the leader of my country to be worried about being “cool.” I don’t want him to swagger and sway as he graces us with his presence. I don’t like wondering what embarrassing thing he’s going to do next and what the world response will be. I don’t like feeling unsettled. He’s put our country in terrible danger with his arrogance and he has a pretty powerful following. Let’s change that in 2010 and 2012.
