And this is a political site.

Not a Christian one. Conservative Americans of every religion and no religion are welcome in the Republican Party. This is not the site for this sort of thing.

you don’t see this as a political issue.

you see that it is.

Are you aware that there are Muslims who frequent this site?

Oh really?

SteveLA (Diary) Sunday, September 20th at 2:24PM EST (link)

There are plenty of blog posts on RS that are very deeply religious in nature and yet they don’t get called out. I’m fine with people posting about their faith by the way, I don’t have to read their posts if I choose not to. Here’s the funny thing, this one gets called out because of calling out the Muslim faith, which I disagree with in principle, but am puzzled by with a question of what are the rules?

If the editorial staff of RS wants to set a standard for posting of religious material, what’s fair game and what’s not, that’s all fine and good, but hopefully the standard will be enforced in a consistent manner. A hat tip to Neil as a matter of fact for shutting down one such blog earlier today.

stop with all the religion BS

toddworsham (Diary) Sunday, September 20th at 1:45PM EST (link)

Religion and politics shouldnt mix…..period. Posts likes yours help libs paint all conservatives as bible thumping birthers who should be ignored and marginalized. The republican party gets in all sorts of trouble because of their moralistic preaching. WE ARE ALL MEN WHO WILL SIN AND DO IMMORAL THINGS no matter what our intentions. When people constantly preach about god and what not in relation to politics they are setting themselves up to have it blow up in their face.

We should all strive to live the Godliest life possible because I think that makes the world the best place possible. However we should also not judge and condem others for their actions we may disagree with….I think the bible says some stuff about that.

The fact is that if you love LIBERTY and I kow that many on this site would profess to love liberty then you need to allow everyone to have liberty. This means you need to respect the choices of others no matter how disgusting or immoral you find those choices. Drug use, gay marriage, and a plethora of “victimless” crimes are a very good lithmus test of your love of liberty.

oh and lastly what about the right to assemble, read your constitution that your probably profess to love so much.

Here we go again....this is a POLITICAL SITE....

JadedByPolitics (Diary) Sunday, September 20th at 1:46PM EST (link)

stop this Christianity is better then any other religion stuff. There are Christian sites for you to post your one sided views of Christianity to and get the responses you want…which is group think!

Take that up with the folks who run Redstate.

mbecker908 (Diary) Sunday, September 20th at 1:50PM EST (link)

You really should be stomping your feet and threatening to head for the door because one of the more respected posters here, and a Frontpage poster, is a Muslim. I’ll just let you stew over who it is, but I’ll give you a hint: He’s a much, much better man than you are.

another point

toddworsham (Diary) Sunday, September 20th at 2:07PM EST (link)

This is a broader commentary on christianity….It provides a great framework for how to live a moral life, but the organized churchs that make up “christianity”, and nations (like ours) that would probably refer to themselves as chrisitian have done bad things, really bad things.

Lets name a few…

Rampant institutionalized racism in america via slavery, anti-chinese laws, anti-irish laws, etc

The acts of the catholic church in shifting around pedophiles in order to cover up their disgusting actions. Honestly to me this takes the cake if you could truely “map” the fallout of this issue I am sure it would be stunning. How many new molesters were created when a trusted priest broke their bond and violated a child?

How many tele-evangelists have scammed little old ladies, or get caught with homosexual hookers doing meth….

What about the brave actions of the US and Britian in limiting Jewish immigration before and during WWII condenming many to die… Oh oh dont forget the vatican they didnt help the jews much either…

What about leftist churches that promote social justice causes and promote high taxes to fight global warming and global poverty.

I think these examples get my point across. Remember just like big government is bad, big religion can also be very bad, if not EVIL (in the case of the disgusting actions of the catholic church). These large organizations are formated and run in ways very similar to government and have many of the same problems.

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

Islam is nothing more than a tool in the hands of the fanatic fundamentalists. The religion had grown beyond the current vision of jihad until the export of Wahhabi-ism began. It is common practice among the terrorists who recruit suicide bombers to keep the recruits drunk or drugged until they hit their target. How does a true Muslim defend such actions? They can’t legitimately, so they use the same “end justifies the means” arguments they use to justify jihad. The fundamentalist’s who are leading and supporting terrorism today are no different than Jim Jones, using religion as a tool to further their own goals.

Muslims aren’t the enemy, the fundamentalists are, any spread of their fundamentalism, be it sharia law, honor killings, inclusion in hate crime legislation(special treatment), etc. is part and parcel of their actions. There are plenty of Muslims who do not believe the teachings of those who are twisting their religion to serve their evil purposes and many of them are not vocal enough in denouncing those who do. To some extent they add to the problem and allow themselves to be “lumped in” with the terrorists and terror supporters like CAIR etc. Much like the American people who a year ago voted for Obambi and now are beginning to see just what a mistake that was, Muslims are beginning to awaken and see how many groups are actually supporting terror and fundamentalism, more of them need to become more active and change the direction their religion is being taken and the way it is viewed.

I am taking a chance and reversing the ban in this matter; I will not be happy if I end up being embarrassed by this.
