“We are five days away from fundamentally transforming America:” Obama’s words while on the campaign trail. You can’t say that he lied out there. He told Americans exactly what he intended to do, and he’s doing it. He asked if he could come into the tent, and America said, “Yes!”

The Camel’s Nose In The Tent

One cold night, as an Arab sat in his tent, a camel gently thrust his nose under the flap and looked in. “Master,” he said, “let me put my nose in your tent. It’s cold and stormy out here.” “By all means,” said the Arab, “and welcome” as he turned over and went to sleep.

A little later the Arab awoke to find that the camel had not only put his nose in the tent but his head and neck also. The camel, who had been turning his head from side to side, said, “I will take but little more room if I place my forelegs within the tent. It is difficult standing out here.” “Yes, you may put your forelegs within,” said the Arab, moving a little to make room, for the tent was small.

Finally, the camel said, “May I not stand wholly inside? I keep the tent open by standing as I do.” “Yes, yes,” said the Arab. “Come wholly inside. Perhaps it will be better for both of us.” So the camel crowded in. The Arab with difficulty in the crowded quarters again went to sleep. When he woke up the next time, he was outside in the cold and the camel had the tent to himself.

I was watching Glenn Beck last night and he used a really good word to describe what Obama, his administration, and the rest of his lemmings are doing: nudging. Think about it. Have you ever been on a crowded elevator, subway, or bus? Ever notice how when you first get on, perhaps, there is plenty of room, but as the ride continues more and more people get on and you find yourself squeezed in slowly; but you are able to adjust and shuffle so that the discomfort is averted for a short time. As you reach the end of the line, however, you have been nudged such that there is no room to move, and you long for the door to open so that you can spill out into the open air. That’s what is happening to us. We are being nudged into submission, and soon we’ll be gasping for air.

While it seems like Obama is ramming a lot down our throats overtly, much of his true agenda is covert. What the health bill intends to do, for instance, is not kick everyone off of their private health plans. That would be too overt. What it says in the small print is, if I understand it correctly, that if a person loses their job provided health plan, or their own private health plan for any reason, they can no longer have private health coverage. They will have to join the government run program with no hope of escape. Things will slowly change to a 100% government run health care system by removing options.

Obama is indeed fundamentally changing America. He has given us Tim Geitner, a tax evader, for a Treasury Secretary; he’s taken over the banks and auto industry, and a disciple of FDR and the 2nd Bill of Rights, Cass Sunstein, is slated to be the Regulatory Czar. This is scary stuff and would provide good fodder for any psychiatrist brave enough to delve into the Progressive mind. Our only hope is that Obama will hit the campaign trail soon (like he ever left!) for the 2012 election (that seems to be his M. O. once he’s elected to office), and that will distract him from doing too much more damage.

America would do well to consider the tale. We’ve let the nose of the camel inside the tent and we are only beginning to be nudged to the side. There is no escape, no back door. We will be forced out through the “flap” into the cold, dark night without a flashlight if we continue to sleep. Once there, it will be a long walk back, if we can ever find our way home.
