What does it take?

The last week has been one of consternation and frustration I suspect for many here on RedState.  After seeing some spine starting to develop in Congress I kept thinking… What can we do to keep the pressure on the chosen people who represent us in DC (and in our respective states).  Well, then it hit me.

I hope you enjoy the following commentary on how many feel, but may not have been able to appropriately express.

I think this sums it up quite well.  Now… is anyone listening?

Fresh News on Gov. Palin

John Ziegler has recently taped a live interview with Gov. Palin in which she describes some of the scrutiny received during her run for the VP nomination.  While the following excerpt is about 10 minutes long It provides some interesting comments on the treatment her and her family received since she was picked.

This is intended to be part of a documentary for the 2008 election process, which might be very interesting to watch.

More Sheriff’s Like This Wanted

Perhaps you have heard of the Sheriff in Maricopa County, Arizona.  He is Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  What is so remarkable about him?  Well, it’s because he is tough on crime and understands it and the people who are involved in comitting the transgressions.  How and why could a Sheriff have such a background in dealing with these issues?

Perhaps some background is in order.

He began his career as a federal narcotics agent, establishing a stellar record in infiltrating drug organizations from Turkey to the Middle East to Mexico, Central, and South America to cities around the U.S. His expertise and success led him to top management positions around the world with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). He concluded his remarkable 32-year federal career as head of the DEA for Arizona.

Well, it would appear he has some very good qualifications for this job.  But you might have to wonder why some might not like him or his methods.  Here is a snapshot of how he works and what he does…

To all the Joe the plumbers & Tito the builders out there after election day

with special tribute to Gov. Sarah Palin

Well, after that election I am numb. I don’t have very many constructive comments at this time except to paraphrase the immortal words of Gen. Douglas MacArthur: We shall return!

Breaking News – Biden hires a public speaking coach

new coach also doubles as public information officer for Obama campaign

For some reason, this just seemed appropriate…

Followed by, the ability to ignore the obvious, while continuing the same soundbites is amazing.

Who do you trust for your information?

Show me the money

paper trails, money trails, hum - where is the vetting?

Picked up an interesting blog here on Obamas campaign money source

Obama’s internet campaign started out innocently enough with basic e-mail networking , lists saved from previous party campaigns and from supporters who visited any of the Obama campaign web sites.

Small contributions came in from these sources and the internet campaign staff were more than pleased by the results.

Then, about two months into the campaign the daily contribution intake multiplied. Where was it coming from? One of the web site security monitors began to notice the bulk of the contributions were clearly coming in from overseas internet service providers and at the rate and frequency of transmission it was clear these donations were “programmed” by a very sophisticated user.

While the security people were not able to track most of the sources due to firewalls and other blocking devices put on these contributions, they were able to collate the number of contributions that were coming in seemingly from individuals but the funds were from only a few credit card accounts and bank electronic funds transfers. The internet service providers (ISP) they were able to trace were from Saudi Arabia, Iran, and other Middle Eastern countries. One of the banks used for fund transfers was also located in Saudi Arabia. emphasis mine

Bipartisan efforts

or, what happens when you try to help

Scorpion

An interesting parable about helping others in times of adversity or need can be found in the story of the scorpion and the turtle.

A scorpion and a turtle are on the same side of a river. The scorpion realizes he cannot cross the river himself, so he asks the turtle for assistance. Upon hearing this request the turtle states; Are you crazy! If I let you get on my back, you will sting me.

In his most reassuring voice the scorpion replies; Why would I do that? If I sting you, we will both drown in the river.

Assured of the logic in this, the turtle lets the scorpion climb on his back and begins the river crossing.

Partway across the river the scorpion stings the turtle. As the poison begins to take effect, the turtle says; Why did you do that? Now, we shall both drown.

In his last breaths, the scorpion answers; I can’t help it. It’s just in my nature to sting.

I think this story has a relevance to the Bailout that was developed. Every time I hear bipartisan I think of this story.

Imposing the nature of the scorpion on the liberals we see a common trait.

Anytime they have a chance to spend money, they do it with glee. Often at the expense of others who they insist they are trying to help.

The next time you hear from someone who in effect says; we are from the government and we are here to help, I hope you remember the fate of the turtle.

Obama’s new party

may well prove to not be fun

More information is being uncovered related to The One. This excerpt listed in full here.

In June sources released information that during his campaign for the State Senate in Illinois, Barack Obama was endorsed by an organization known as the Chicago “New Party”. The ‘New Party’ was a political party established by the Democratic Socialists of America (the DSA) to push forth the socialist principles of the DSA by focusing on winnable elections at a local level and spreading the Socialist movement upwards.

After allegations surfaced in early summer over the ‘New Party’s’ endorsement of Obama, the Obama campaign along with the remnants of the New Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a member of either organization. The DSA and ‘New Party’ then systematically attempted to cover up any ties between Obama and the Socialist Organizations. However, it now appears that Barack Obama was indeed a certified and acknowledged member of the DSA’s New Party.

The link for the listing of New Party members of 1996 is listed here on Human Events.

The more you dig into the character of The Messiah, the more it stinks.

Complimenting all of this is a great link

Does an ACORN really fall from the tree?

or, is this too squirrely to believe?

One of the best sources of information I have found on the subject of alleged Democratic principles was actually an accident. The original source material can be found here.

As this quote indicates, there is a lack of available information on Barack Obama, which then supposes without any sufficient information we can connect the underlying themes. With the lack of public information being made available by the Obama campaign, it then becomes necessary to link the associations (there’s that word again) of historical events.

Yet, no one to my knowledge has yet connected all the dots between Barack Obama and the Radical Left. When seen together, the influences on Obama’s life comprise a who’s who of the radical leftist movement, and it becomes painfully apparent that not only is Obama a willing participant in that movement, he has spent most of his adult life deeply immersed in it.

But even this doesn’t fully describe the extreme nature of this candidate. He can be tied directly to a malevolent overarching strategy that has motivated many, if not all, of the most destructive radical leftist organizations in the United States since the 1960s.

Good Luck Gov. Palin

knock 'em dead

With the pending VP debate arriving shortly many have offered advice on what to do during the debate. I offer the best advice seen in recent memory.

Take no prisoners and God speed!

The shape of things to come?

if you can't hold your hand over your heart, what else is next?

Hopefully, at some point in time before it becomes too late to turn back from the precipice the public will start to realize where character matters. Character is shaped by the events and associations in a persons life.

Who has not heard of the phrase; If you get in the mud with the pigs, you get dirty? No… I’m not talking about putting lipstick on the little guy. This is about values; American values.

There has been a fundamental shift in our culture in the last 40 years or so. Here is a short list to name few:

  • Removal of the Pledge of Allegiance

  • Flag desecration

  • Trying to remove God from anything printed or coined

  • Censorship of rebuttals or speech

  • Political correctness to the point where our own laws are used against us

Message to Kennedy Democrats

Do you really think Obama is even close to JFK?

As we have been informed via comparison to Barack Obama he is the next JFK. A communicator for the people, and by the people. However, when you compare the spoken word of JFK to BHO’s actions you see anything but that likeness. In fact, for political gain BHO has manipulated his image because so many people may have fond memories of JFK.

The two are anything else. BHO is not even close to JFK in thought and deed.

The Truth Hurts

as will the medicine for it

As this situation resolves itself into a blame game and assisted with the finger pointing of certain elected parties I think it’s important to recognize the initial point of conception of how the problem started.

If you cannot find the underlying issues, you cannot fix the problem.

By now most are becoming aware of the precipitating factors and the scare mongers are running rampant in assigning blame to anyone, but those that helped to create the situation in the first place.

This video goes a long way in establishing a time line of the contributing factors and players who have helped to create the mess we find ourselves in today.

Reject any and all who helped to establish this difficult situation.

History repeats itself…again

who's money is it?

In the span of over 120 years similar issues continue to vex the peoples representatives elected to office. Witness the the current situation of government attempts/programs to provide/throw money at specific issues and compare this to the past. I think most agree that throwing money at a problem is not conducive to solving the problem itself.

This is not intended to be an unsympathetic view for those going through any terrible situation, but more a discussion on the limits of power those elected to office actually have.

By providing government bail-outs to every emergency does this solve anything, or does this just kick-the-can down the road for others to find a more permanent solution? Or, to get the issue past short-term memory?
