Bill Johnson, who claims to be the only “Reagan conservative”, non-establishment candidate in Kentucky’s GOP primary for U.S. Senate, may be picking up steam, if recent polls are any indication. An independent poll conducted by a California firm on or about December 16 shows Johnson leading in one of four Kentucky regions and leading among all women statewide. Overall, the poll has Johnson at 17% which the Johnson campaign claims is consistent with internal polling also showing him at 17% statewide.
After release of the internal poll, Johnson told Joe Arnold of WHAS-11 News in Louisville:
I have retained a fundraiser and will be focusing on that activity in January. I can win this primary with $300,000 and will not rest until May 18th. For once, the voters will have a true choice independent of money, power, status or any other factor.
The surge in Johnson’s numbers occurred prior to recent problems in the Rand Paul campaign and may be due partly to newspaper ad inserts going out across the state promoting Johnson as the “Reagan conservative” alternative to the former Democrat Trey Grayson and the libertarian-leaning Rand Paul.

Good to know
rokinlamb Friday, January 1st at 6:36PM EST (link)It is good to know that there is a fiscal conservative who is conservative in the rest of his platform and is seeking to serve the people of Kentucky which in turn serves the people of the entire United States.
Good post, Ms. Graas. I look forward to following the Johnson campaign closely through your writing.

KYBlue Friday, January 1st at 7:54PM EST (link)How long have we heard that we must send citizen patriots, non-professional politicians to Washington? How long have we heard that we must cut big money out of politics?
One visit to Bill Johnson for Senate 2010 and one call or email (CONTACT BILL) will be all that’s necessary to understand his commitment to break the mold.

Bill accepts no monies with strings attached. His people skills are heart warming. He stands with the people!
A Reagan conservative, Bill Johnson will earn your respect first in order to earn your vote in May.
Finally...Someone notices...
Crimefyter Friday, January 1st at 9:23PM EST (link)I’m almost in a state of shock. Bill Johnson is finally getting some exposure. Long has he been the Rodney Dangerfield of this campaign. His opponents won’t even acknowledge him let alone the media. I admit, after meeting and talking with Bill Johnson a few months ago and looking into his positions and beliefs, that I am an ardent supporter. He is the true Ronald Reagan Conservative. He is self financed, has a message that just resonates with those he talks with and is the ideal grassroot candidate. I know he will be representing you and me in DC and we won’t have to march enmass to get his attention.
This pleases me to see that some polling is showing him making progress but the real poll is the one taken on election day. I urge all my fekllow Kentuckians to look into Bill Johnson, www.kentuckybill.com. You just might like what you see. I did!!

Lycurgus Wednesday, January 6th at 3:55PM EST (link)Isn’t there already a 100% pro-life, 100% pro-constitution, 100% anti-socialized medicine, 100% pro-free-market, 100% pro-limited government, 100% pro-strong national defense, 100% anti-amnesty, 100% committed to limited government in Kentucky for the last 20 years candidate running and currently substantially in the lead?
What am I missing here, trying to split the conservative base will give the nomination to a RINO as sure as there are stars in the sky. What Pollster is this, where is the poll?
If to please the people we offer what we ourselves disapprove, how then shall we stand? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and honest can repair; the rest is in the hands of God. ~George Washington
