There is certainly plenty of blame to go around. With so many RINO's and entrenched political interests around, reformation of the Repub brand to actually mean "conservatism" seems problematic at best. Maybe a new party is what we need -- the TEA Party, perhaps.

If we do stick with Republicanism, I think Sarah Palin is the only electable candidate who will both adhere to and effectively communicate small govt conservative values/positions.

They don't understand how wealth and a high standard of living has happened.

I think republicans are to blame too for the socialist policies we already have. It opens the door wider open to the temptation to envy and to want what you didn't earn.

post reminds me of Robert Mugabe's Zimbabwe. Mr. Mugabe thought it would be a great idea to level the playing field by expropriating thousands of white- owned farms. Funny thing happened on the way to the farmer's market, however. After killing or running off all the farmers, no one was left who knew how to farm. Now, rather than it's former status as the breadbasket of Africa, Zimbabwe has become the basket-case of Africa. Starvation and misery are rampant. Socialism in action baby!

Socialism is the perfect solution for people who spent a lifetime doing everything they could to avoid learning and doing things. Socialism is the perfect solution for people who had their food, water, utilities, waste disposal, and other services, done for them, without understanding or appreiciating the value of the effort behind those services. Socialists are people who are unwilling to do anything without demanding the efforts of all around them, usually instead of them. In a Socialist government, that expectation is met at all costs. Socialism eventually fails because the system eventually runs out of people that can do anything useful. But people who chose uselessness see that as an ever increasing voting bloc.

Now, those same people who don't understand the value of people who farm, do heavy labor, mason, manufacture, clean, cook, handle a weapon, repair, mine, hunt, add, spell, think and wipe themselves are legion, and are in a position to dictate, by simple majority, to the rest of the country that can.

I fear the only way to stop them is to choke them out. The sooner the bread trucks stop coming, from wherever it is they come from, the faster people will wake up.

Still, it will be difficult for many to accept the fact that I won't help take care of them. Last I heard, that was never my job in the first place.
