Palin Haters NOW Mad at Juneau Tourism and Outrage Over Little Piper’s Lemonade Stand


Palin hater with cocaine conviction goes after Piper Palin

Tourism has recently been up a little in Juneau, Alaska. More folks than ever have been interested in taking bus tours through Alaska’s capitol city with a major attraction being the Alaska State House where Governor Sarah Palin goes about her daily work. In fact, the tours have been gaining in popularity since before John McCain asked the governor along for his run for the White House. The bus tours are so popular that adorable little Piper has even set up a lemonade stand to sell tourists a glass of lemony goodness to quench their thirst for something wet as well as something cute.

And Palin haters in Alaska are livid. They want the bus tours stopped and little Piper’s stand razed to the ground. Palin Derangement Syndrome strikes again. It’s an ugly, ugly thing, this PDS.

The Juneau Empire has a story of the venom filled Theodore “Chip” Thoma that has cavorted about the city erecting crude, hand-made signs shouting that the bus tours should be stopped. He is a vocal opponent of Governor Palin, naturally, and runs a “group” that he has decided to label Responsible Cruising in Alaska.

Thoma apparently calls himself a “political gadfly” as well as claiming to be an “environmental activist.” He also has a record of filing nuisance ethics complaints against government officials. Additionally, Thoma has a few criminal convictions for drunken driving — at least four during the 1990s in Alaska, and two others in Oregon — as well as one for possession of cocaine. (See Thoma v. Hickel (8/15/97), 947 P 2d 816)

No doubt Thoma will say, “they’re all out to get me!” I’m sure it’s some grand conspiracy. Probably the Bilderbergers, the Jesuits, the Jews and the space aliens set him up. What else could it be?

Now apparently the unsavory Thoma isn’t just mad at the bus tours that he claims will “ruin the neighborhood.” As Joseph Russo has discovered, the tipsy Thoma is also targeting the inoffensive little Piper.

It seems that Governor Palin is so popular with tourists that thousands of people are walking from the docks to the governor’s mansion in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the first family. Mr. Thoma feels that this — along with Piper Palin’s lemonade stand, trampoline and buoy swing — is “bringing down the neighborhood.” It seems that Mr. Thoma doesn’t enjoy the Palin children very much.

What sort of a sick, unhinged man would attack a little girl’s lemonade stand?

But Thoma tired to tell the Anchorage Daily News that this whole anti-bus tour thing “has nothing to do” with the governor and her cute-as-a-button daughter at all.

On the other hand, in that same article, Thoma pinpoints every problem he has with the tours to Palin. Oh, and he’s sure she’s out to get him… just like all those other government officials he’s filed nuisance lawsuits against were.

Methinks Mr. Thoma would be better to spend his money on therapy instead of poster paints and sticks.

This story is yet more proof of the hate and underhandedness of the American left. They know they can’t beat their opponents politically, so they harass, accuse, attack and use the media as a lapdog to do so in order to drive opponents from politics. Instead of relying on truth and the strength of their arguments, the left resorts to thug tactics.

In the end, all I can really say is: well, Mr. Thoma, I know who isn’t going to get a loving spit-comb between his hits of cocaine and bottles of beer!

Having lived in Juneau for 5 years,

I’m not surprised at this story. All the fruitcakes in Alaska are centered in Juneau. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a GREAT place to live, but as in many cities, there are liberal elements running its streets. I remember our first Easter Sunday in Juneau. We were walking down the street on our way to the Heritage coffee shop when 2 young women approached us with gifts of Easter eggs. We thanked them warmly & as we continued our walk, read the script on the colored eggs “Happy Easter from your lesbian neighbors”. Then there was the woman who took a poor homeless man to court because she thought he was an unsuitable “guardian” for his best friend – a dog. (She lost.) But I’m sure innocent little Piper has caring parents who will raise her to withstand the many undeserved arrows headed her way. And years from now America will remember Piper and have absolutely no memory of folks like this Thoma guy.

a few days ago: that Palin makes the MSM/lib crowd so perfuddled is enough to make me support her. I don’t agree with some of her more liberal policies, but I’ll take an average mom whose very being radiates her conviction in right to life over some over-educated liberal egghead like Huckabee or Obama. So to the Alaska libs, keep attacking our Sarah, it will just show you how strong a hockey mom can be!

Yes, this is by far the worst example of all the attacks on Sarah Palin and her family. Thanks for reporting on it here at Red State. Conservatives4Palin.com has a lot of information on this story which I first saw a couple of days ago.

This is symptomatic of a larger problem, folks. The Left works out of a playbook – Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals – and the attacks on Palin and her family are all straight out of that playbook. Hillary wrote her thesis on the book. See link below for background on Obama and this book.

They ALWAYS do this stuff to conservatives (see the playbook!), but with Palin it has been an onslaught. Why can’t some in the GOP see that it’s because she is so dangerous to the Left that they are doing this to her? And it is precisely BECAUSE she is so dangerous to the Left that we MUST get her in the White House.

Wake up, GOP. Your best hope for 2012 is being crucified…..and her kids along with her. Stop with the “Palin is a liability” talk (which is what the Left wants you to say) and start defending her. If the GOP elitists are too elite to be OUTRAGED by an attack on Piper Palin, they will become quickly irrelevant to the electorate.

When her then-press secretary Meg Stapleton was interviewed on Fox right after the VP pick was announced, Stapleton said that when she was hired, the governor’s popularity was in the high 80s. Stapleton said that she knew how tough her job would be because Palin had really nowhere to go in the polls but down.

Your are, I think, quite correct in saying that with everything that has been hurled at Palin, and considering that her poll numbers in Alaska STILL are at least as high as Obama’s (her approval index was six points higher than his last I checked, a few days ago), she is THE MOST ELECTABLE GOP candidate there is. Liberal blogger Tommy Christopher rightly noted that Palin’s nationwide numbers are likely even higher than her Alaska numbers since Alaskans get far more exposure to the attacks than others do. Anyone who doesn’t realize that Palin is the most electable candidate by far isn’t paying attention at all.

The first article doesn’t seem like it’s an attack on Piper though:

He was wrong to include a kid’s swing as a problem but I don’t see the initial protest over this as an attack on Piper.

Jeez, liberals even hate the kids. You would think they would be worried about the latest increase in the deficit estimate and unemployment, from the administration itself. No time for that when there’s Sarah Palin, her children, Republicans who say no instead of caving, and of course Rush Limbaugh.
Rush was the butt of jokes at press dinner, and from the looks of it, and I do mean it, I thought the comedian was Bill Cosby in drag.

Did a quick search last night when I heard about this moron.

Besides the info that WTH put out there, about Thoma v Hickel, in which Thoma unsuccessfully sued the Governor, at the time, because the “government was out to get him” !

I guess smoking bushel baskets full of dope on a daily basis can make you paranoid!
