I respect Polish concert pianist Krystian Zimmerman’s moxie. Oh, he hasn’t a clue what he is talking about, but he has the courage of his convictions at least, which is more than I can say for all those wild-eyed, half-informed, hypocrites in the American entertainment industry.
You see, a few days ago, pianist Zimmerman announced in the middle of a concert that he would no longer be playing concerts in the U.S. because he is against U.S. foreign policy. If you truly want to know this loon’s political complaints, there is a long, pointless and boring story about it in the L.A. Times on April 28.
Me, I couldn’t care less about this half-wit’s gripes. But I do applaud him for having the backbone to do something about it. He will forgo his money, cancel his concerts and leave this country. I say good for him. It’s about time one of these pampered “stars” in the entertainment industry finally has the stones to live up to the blather.
Of course, no true American should miss the twit, but let’s applaud him for his standing on principle. Now, if we can only encourage some of his anti-American pals in Hollywood to join him in never performing here again. Let’s hope Zimmerman can persuade several to join him in his American exodus. Folks like Sean Penn, the Dippy Chimps, Mrs. and Mr. Barbara Streisand, Mrs. and Mr. Susan Sarandon, Danny “love those dictators” Glover, “Commie Jane” Fonda, even “D” listers like Janeane Godawfulho would be a load of our minds.
The hate that people like Zimmerman and those mentioned above display for every aspect of the U.S.A. would not be missed. I sure hope that all find the same fortitude as Zimmie.

bk (Diary) Wednesday, April 29th at 7:44AM EST (link)From the LA Times article: “In a low voice that could not be heard throughout the auditorium, Zimerman, universally considered among the world’s finest pianists, made reference to Guantanamo Bay and U.S. military policies toward Poland.”
Let’s see, Obama claims to have closed Gitmo, and he has said he’s backing off helping Poland out and leaving it in Putin’s hands. That worked our pretty well for Poland 70 years ago.

mikefisk (Diary) Wednesday, April 29th at 11:10AM EST (link)Daniel Gildenlow, lead singer of progressive rock band Pain of Salvation, has not toured the US in years over opposition to government policies of fingerprinting everyone that comes into the country from overseas. He only recently changed his policy, announcing a tour in the US this summer, on the grounds that having Obama as President was enough for him (although he says he’s still vociferously against the fingerprinting policy).
That being said, he figured out a way of getting me to see him perform anyways… his band is touring with the favorite band of myself and Utah Governor Huntsman (Dream Theater). Decisions, decisions…

Lighten up, he's a genius!
ampla Wednesday, April 29th at 11:56AM EST (link)I read the article, and he appears to be suffering from some delusional thinking about the “real world” that many geniuses struggle with. His piano was destroyed shortly after 9-11 as a security precaution by the Transportation Security Administration, so now he assembles his piano himself when he travels. Obviously his piano is very important to him. He is a brilliant pianist but he seems to be having a hard time sorting out the world around him.
Jewish before Polish
Dencal26 Wednesday, April 29th at 2:13PM EST (link)I can almost be sure Zimmerman is Jewish before he is Polish and his opinions more closely resemble the average Bolshevik than they do the average Pole.

Hey
Gyorc Nacain Wednesday, April 29th at 5:16PM EST (link)I was not trying to insult anyone…I was surprised, precisely because people here are usually pretty good about stuff like this, and yet there had been little reaction, which seemed unusual.
Seemed pretty accusatory to me.
Aaron Gardner (Diary) Wednesday, April 29th at 5:26PM EST (link)But then again I think you are a disingenuous troll.

civil truth (Diary) Wednesday, April 29th at 6:34PM EST (link)…and they didn’t figure it worth their time to pile on. Or perhaps they lost interest before they spotted Dencal’s comment. There’s a whole host of plausible reasons.
Equating silence with acquiescence or approval is not valid reasoning.
