Watching all of the Sunday shows focused on, and seeing the reporting on MSM on, the enhanced interrogation techniques (EIT) really irked me today.

Most of us here at Redstate realize that the EIT that are under scrutiny weren’t going on in Iraq by American interrogators; however, there has not been ONE SINGLE report or blog posting making the distinction between what happened in one single Iraqi prison and what happened in the CIA’s prisons and Gitmo. Is this not a valid point for pundits on Fox News to bring up? We can’t allow for this irresponsibility in media to continue.

John McCain was disgraceful this morning on Face the Nation. Not only did he not defend the policies which allowed for the EIT, he went on to say that officials in the Bush Administration should be pardoned. Pardoned for what? There was no crime! Accepting a pardon could keep those guys out of a courtroom (or testimony), but would ultimately be an admission of guilt.

I’ve emailed the Fox News guys to include O’Reilly, Hannity, Beck, et al, and others to Rush, Monica Crowley, Laura Ingraham and others HOPING that this guys can pick up on the trail. I really think this is a winning point for us. Remember that only a handful US Army Military Police officers were charged with detainee abuse… I don’t recall any CIA officials mentioned in the investigation. This distinction should be broadcast on the front page of every conservative blog or other media outlet.
