But from what I have found out with out any specifics
is criticizing of the polociy, and then criticizing the man for the belief in the policy.
With Bush, it was criticize Bush, and then criticize the policy because of Bush.
If you could reference me in the right direction, I would be most thankfull to you.
You’ve gotten my interest up, and now I have to know.

Ike, Ford, Reagan, to a smaller extent Nixon (tho he did a little). That is about it. The rest have all talked trash about the administrations that followed in some way or another. Carter and Clinton have spent no time at all remaining dutifully quiet. Hell, Teddy Roosevelt excoriated Wilson AND his own successor Taft, for instance.

Oh, and Silent Cal doesn’t count. HE didn’t talk about ANYTHING!

The elected Administrations of my knowledge “NEVER” said anything about the previous Administration after the campaighn and election. It was some kind of code thing, I would like to believe. A tradition.
The outgoing president was duty bound not to say or do anything to influence or make ill of the incoming President.

That was until Gore lost.
clinton was more than happy to give it to Bush when ever the need arose. And ya didn’t realy hear much about current Presidents from Jimmy until he saw that clinton was doing it.

Bush has restarted this tradition with his speach in Calgarie, where I read reporters were asking gotcha questions about Obama after the event, and he politely refused.
Lets hope it sticks.

And I thought VPs were exempt, since they could potentialy run for President.

I believe both these yay-hoos were on the Bill Maher show a few weeks ago, together. What do you expect from someone who is on that telecast? I also believe they were with Sam Donaldson.

Nowadays, part of being a “Moderate Republican” is attacking members of your own party. Democrats don’t have this problem on their side of the aisle.

Salam here reminds me of one particular very stupid “moderate” I used to clash with on Townhall’s forum boards in 2004. His shtick was that Republicans should be “better” than Democrats i.e. Republicans should not use negative campaigning, Republicans should not respond to negative attacks, Republicans should kick out any Republican who has ever had an ethics complaint filed against him/her, etc.

Anytime you point him to Democratic misdeeds just to see his reaction, he dismisses it as none of his concern because he is not a Democrat and Republicans should be “better than them …!”

The similarity of the mindset is interesting: Salam is attacking Dick Cheney for not being polite and shutting up as he and the President and the Administration he was a part is continually being slandered and blamed.

The fact that it is quite a breach of protocol for an Administration to be so openly disrespectful of its predecessor Administration never occurs to this moron. Neither does the gallivanting of Al Gore from 2001 to 2009.

I don’t think I’ll ever understand the intense self-hatred and masochism that afflicts moderate Republicans.

should just listen to Cheney’s interview.

Hannity’s interview was a good one. I like Sean, but he gives some of the most leading questions I’ve ever seen of any commentator (besides KO) and Cheney handled them very well. In fact Cheney addressed this blogger’s complaints. Had he bothered to actually listen to the interview, he wouldn’t have anything to write about.

While I will agree with one item, it is not common to come out and diss the current administration…… However, it is not presidential for the current administration to continually question and blame the past administration……. I think only Jimmy Carter and Obama do that. I hope they all talk….

On another note, the level of professionalism of this administration is so low you could play a game of limbo…. Did you here Hillary yesterday? Condi never would have said that…. I’m just sayin…

I read some earlier tripe for this guy on how he was so over Sarah Palin. The problem with his piece was that it was 95% restatement of information that had nothing to do with his argument. He saves his argument for a small paragraph at the end, where few would read (and challenge) it. Classic Drive-By Media tactic. Here it is in case you have bird cage that needs lining I'm thusly shocked that he self-identifies as a conservative. It makes sense, I suppose. There's a market in the media for those who say they're conservative but aren't as long as they are willing to bash conservatism. It's the next step in the destruction of conservatism, now that we're completely out of power at the national level. They want to keep it that way.

Unfortunately, I’ve never heard of this guy, but I’ll mentally note the name. As someone who considers George Bush and Dick Cheney to be American Heros, I guess that would seem natural. But then I consider listening to the VP to be a sorely-needed breath of fresh air. It would behoove us all to listen to what the man is saying too, he’s right.
