Obama was raised a Muslim/atheist, so why do you think he actually understands, let alone appreciates Christian values?

Obama was trained as a Marxist by Frank Davis, and has spent his life sucking on the public teat. Why would you think he even comprehends the fundamentals of capitalism.

You guys need to quit criticizing him as if he were just misquided or using poor judgement. He is what he is. A practicing internationalist/marxist.

This seems like it would have been a good time for that, even if there would be a percieved “controversy” over it. I can’t find anything online about what Reagan did then. Probably completely different scenarios, though.

Look at the way he is attempting to nationalize the banks, the whispers of restoring the ‘fairness’ doctrine and the shrill opposition to any dissent. That something you’d see in Venezuela and Iran as opposed to Europe.

His popularity ratings are made up. Sorry, but the kind of statistics they use are so easy to fake that it’s not even worth paying attention to them. It’s not just the leading questions but it’s very easy to manipulate numbers in those as well; too easy which is why they’re practically worthless. That and the fact that people are afraid to say what they really think for fear of P.C.

Listen to what’s happening on the street. I’d say the tea parties exceeded 1 million and that has Washington scared, especially since it happened on a work day.

There will come a time in the not too distant future when their polls won’t be able to hide the fact that this president sucks worse than Jimmy Carter ever dreamed of sucking.

The illegal immigrants from the Dictators’ countries add up to Obama’s winning votes. Plus, his stance in favor of these dictatorial/socialist governments in Latin America further solidifies his support from the leftists, especially the pro-socialism American youth (half of them are clueless about it, though).

It’s as simple as that, IMHO.

Thus the Obama administration and its media rent boys have decided that the way to deal with protest and dissent from the domestic right (that’s us) is to refuse to talk with us and instead to ridicule and dismiss and assert we are not a legitimate opposition.

Their playbook of responses to the tea parties represents the first major initiative in this vein.

Ironically,Obama was right on this point – and he demonstrates his arrogance by his refusal to meaningfully engage his domestic opponents. But like Chavez, with enough muscle (and force) behind him, he may be able to pull off this act.

This administration either doesn’t know (doubtful), or doesn’t care (likely) that the media in Venezuela, Cuba, et al is going to be posting headlines like “Hugo stands down weakened giant” or “Cuba gains concessions from evil empire.” These dictators came into power by force, and the only way for them to remain in power, or to solidify their position, is by convincing their populations that they do indeed wield great power. And what better way of doing that than by communicating to your people that you stood up to the United States?

Ultimately, whether or not I personally am offended by the President bowing to the King of Saudia Arabia is only of peripheral importance, what REALLY matters is how the Saudi’s, or the Cubans, or the Iranians, etc. interpret that action. What this President patently does not understand is that his popularity ratings don’t mean squat to the citizens of those countries.

I’ve been halfway following Obama through these tours, well, maybe more than halfway, but it seems to me that he was much warmer to the dictators in S.A. than he was to our allies in Europe. Every time, one of these little dictators offer to send ambassadors or help the U.S. with advice, I see vultures circling around D.C. Even if the 52% who voted for Obama don’t see it, these tinpot dictators see him as weak and as an opportunity to grow their own power.

I suppose, Ahmedinajed will be the next one “won over” by Obama. North Korea is going straight for the throat and skipping the “diplomacy.”

I think it can be better titled individual ethics. As I’ve had discussions with friends under the hypnotic power of liberalism, I keep pushing against this notion of “whatever works for him/her works for me”….and “who am I to judge”. On the other hand, the conservative viewpoint lives in world of a few basic rules from which flow a system of government. Our Founding Fathers will brilliant in their encoding of those rules in our founding documents…and the documents, whether a few noisy non-Christians like it or not, were drived from Christian values. These values, when applied, have stood the test of time unlike any other value system. These values have led to beauty (Sistine Chapel) and great societies (ours). Sure, some have perverted the values (Cursades), but that’s certainly the exception, and one that non-Christains like to tout.

I don’t think the left has any common point of view on anything…other that “if it feels good, do it, as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else”. As RSers know, this leads to an unsustainable society. Someone has to draw a line somewhere. And how does one define where that line exists if we all get to decide it equally? The logic is just silly from the conservative point of view…our line was drawn by our Constitution…and for many of us…a bigger line has been drawn by a Bible we believe in, but that isn’t a requirement in our country as the Consistution distilled out the Really Important Values.

Obama’s showing individual ethics behavior pretty clearly. He’s not operating from a foundation built on the rocks, as he claims. Rather, he’s working hard to excavate the rocks under conservatism. And unfortuately, some in the GOP are driving the excavator for him. And to look back, I think that why Bush was so hated…because he didn’t apply this liberal viewpoint…it violated their core world view.
