I’m not all that familiar with Middle Eastern culture, but…
With the kiss, Bush put himself on the same level as Abdullah (a greeting between equals).
With the bow, Obama put himself below Abdullah (a subordinate bows to his superior).

From which place would you rather be negotiating about human rights?

The topic was not the efficacy of either Obama’s OR Bush’s foreign policy, IT was the outright lies perpetrated as “analysis” by The Age newspaper.

It is not whether we agree or disagree with what Messrs Bush or Obama did or did not do it is the completely inept leftist press. But inept in a way that always favors the leftist politician.

To use a hypothetical headline “Bush Hurts Food Industry by Never Eating Lunch” followed by a counter claim by a conservative with pictures of Bush at lunch……..it does not really matter what is on his plate.

Was certainly idiotic. However, at a time when we are still trying to make publicize Obama’s shameful bow before the Saudi Arabian king, I don’t really want to be publicizing a picture of Bush kissing a repressive despot.

There’s a big difference between Saudi Arabia and Turkey. Warmly greeting the prime minister of a secular democracy is one thing; an Islamic king is something totally different.
