According to reports, President Obama said it’s important to have a quick path to citizenship for illegal immigrants so that they can join unions to “get protection” from evil employers.
Speaking at a town hall meeting in Southern California, Obama broached his newest cause celebre, “comprehensive” immigration reform, in Costa Mesa.
“If they stay in the shadows in the underground economy, they are oftentimes pitted against American workers since they can’t join a union. They can’t complain about minimum wages.”
Obama also claimed that we need to make sure illegal immigrants don’t flood across the border uncontrolled saying that we need to secure our border with Mexico. Yet, even as he told Californians that he is an advocate of a tighter boarder, reports have emerged that his administration is going to take money away from immigration workplace enforcement programs allowing immigrants to more easily take jobs illegally in the U.S.
So, as is typical with this president, what he says on the permanent campaign trail is in no way backed by his actual policies.
What we see here is the exact opposite of a controlled border. He wants to give blanket amnesty to enlarge union rolls and denude money from enforcement on top of that so that even more illegals will find reason to sneak across the border.
If Californians thought Obama was trying to head off the coming Mexifornia, they are sorely mistaken.

“It must be stopped….What value system is that? I think it’s un-American. I think it’s un-American.”
No – Pelosi you have it backwards – YOU must be stopped – You are un-American.
The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

So, if an employee starts agitating about unionizing and you, the employer, check his bona fides and find he’s an illegal and fire him or turn him over to ICE, the union files an Unfair Labor Practice Complaint (ULPC) agaisnt you for discriminating against him for his protected union activities. You will be found guilty of that ULP and one of the “changes” in EFCA is very stiff fines for this sort of ULP.

Of course, a BHO ICE isn’t going to enforce immigration law against employers unless they supported Republicans. If an employer knows that his inquiry could get him fined under EFCA or sued for discrimination, he ain’t inquiring.

It’s just a form saying I’m legal and the INS knows I’m here and that I’m able to work legally. I also understand that I’m suppose to have my PRC, green card, on me at all times.

The problem is that the debate has been defined by the left and the MSM. You are for us or YOU ARE RACIST, there is no middle ground.
What conservatives have going for them is that the American public still oppose amnesty/illegal immigration by a wide margin.
In 2006 one of the main arguments that was supposed to swing people to the pro-amensty crowd was the economic argument, now that falls flat given the current economy.
But once again unless Republicans stand firm and speak with one voice the Dems will win which means AMERICA LOSES!!
