PS: Your analogy with Kent Williams doesn’t hold water. Williams’ actions showed he wasn’t a Republican. Salles did not stop being gay because he (allegedly, I think) embezzled money – I don’t see how the latter somehow contradicts the fact that he prefers to sleep with other men.

Not all gays are into kiddie porn, nor are all gays pederasts. The odds are that those two despicable groups represent a tiny percentage of the gay population. It is worth noting that those groups are also a non-zero percentage of the straight population.

If you don’t want their votes that’s your call. But you can do better than say that I’m apparently cool with pedophilia and child pornography. You’d pretty much have to add whole paragraphs to my post in order to read it the way that you did.

Rosa Parks was an activist. Frederick Douglass was an activist.
Etc, etc. History is full of good people who believed in righteous causes that were “activists” because they truly believed in what they were fighting for. Heck, there are probably some Republicans that call themselves “activists”

I have consistently been trying to broaden my argument to include other groups that similar posturing have driven away from the party.
