No, he has not shown great leadership. Nor is he likely. I read over the weekend that he is forming a tight little ‘über-cabinet’ of long-time associate-type advisers. Presidents can certainly do this, but this little clique bothers me tremendously. I sense that it is not being formed to supplement the established Cabinet positions, but to circumvent them.

A magisterial type of rule is in the offing, and it both offends and perturbs me. Not a President and his Cabinet, but a King and his Court. The Constitution gives the President his power; this ‘court’ will exercise that power because the President is weak. Unelected, unanswerable, secretive, and bare-knuckled. It scares me to contemplate such thuggery elevated to the Presidency, and to set up shop inside the White House

There is one similar figure in history that came to my mind though. A lot of pictures of him as well, but he used his right hand to reach out with. Everybody reached out in response too.
Well anyway, that was what flashed in my mind when I saw the wrap in front of the donut shop down the street.

If you mean “not shocked” then you are still okay. If you mean “not disgusted” then you need serious help.

That’s how I’ll decide to stop being a prosecutor and go sell used cars or something – - I am way past being shocked but, when the things the bad guys do no longer disgust me, I’ll know it’s time to go.

It will be a hard fall for “the one.” The attempts to lower the bar have failed, & what he’s done so far is not winning him a bunch of friends – ordering Guantanamo closed but no plans for the incarcerated? Not listening to the generals on the ground in Iraq?

Obama is a facade – gives a great speech & is photogenic. Other than that, what? He’s not shown great leadership skills & wilts under pressure. He does not do well when opposed, something we on the right need to remember. I would have preferred the fall come without his being president – that didn’t happen. We have lessons to learn from that. We will need a strong, passionate, conservative Republican leader or leaders to step up & repair the damage that will occur.
