Sarah has that something special that WE just love ala Reagan as well as Fred and for me Michael Steele……it is a spark that makes you believe that they would not only walk their talk but take it to the media who will never understand them or US…..the day the media understand the right side of the divide I suspect hell will have frozen over!

To put it in college football terms, she is now the Notre Dame of the political arena. People either love her (myself included) or hate her.

Contrast that to Joe Biden. He had his brief moment in the sun at the VP debate (thank to Palin who drew the ratings), but has now fallen back into obscurity. People could care less about Joe Biden.

Let me give you an example, I went out for drinks with co-workers shortly before the election. I rarely talk politics with co-workers because it’s just not worth it, but one of the admin assistants brought up the election with me. She asked for whom I was voting and all I said was McCain. She immediately jumped to Palin and asked how I could vote for a ticket with “that woman” on it. Adding that “Sarah Palin makes me want to puke”. I was somewhat stunned. I asked her that, as a woman, even if she didn’t agree with her politics, didn’t she at least admire the fact that Palin was a self-made woman, who had accomplished everything on her own, without a wealthy family, or a powerful husband. Isn’t she the poster child for feminist empowerment? That didn’t matter a whit to my co-worker. This is not an uncommen response.

I think the world of Sarah, but if she has aspirations for higher office in the future she is going to have a daunting task of softening the views of those that are dead set against her.

I never saw Palin as a polarizing figure: I saw her as a person who represented a large portion of the electorate who was very successful but who don’t usually arrogate the spotlight to themselves.

In other words I always saw Palin as a person who got people together and really made them think and consider their way of life. I’ve never seen how that’s divisive, unless you’re a narrow-minded bigot.

It’ not the kids who are stupid but the parents who were born after the baby boomers but before generation X. That would be say 1955-1965.

Just who determined who the “hopefuls” are? We all know Huck-a-pee is very hopeful, and has stated as much. At the end of the story they say a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll was taken of 460 Republican and Independents leaning republican voters. On CNN TV they showed this poll a few nights ago. Those results were 34% Huck-a-pee and 32% Palin, Romney had something like 26% and on down.

Why is CNN doing polls of the 2012 Republican pres. race, before their man Obama is even inaugrated. The Headlines are “Huckabee tops poll among 2012 hopefuls. Could it be that they are already preparing to choose our next loser candidate? This is what the Conservatives are going to have to fight against for the next 4 years. It will be a cold day in he!! before Huck-a-pee tops the charts for Conservatives who believe in all things Conservative, rather than only SoCon values. They cannot and will not choose our next candidate as hindsight is 20/20 vision.

This is an excellent and very popular post, judging from the comments, but I don’t see it when I click on “Hot topics: Sarah”.

I’ve noticed one of the biggest identifying factors in whether one hates or loves Sarah (almost no one is indifferent) is whether one believes or disbelieves the MSM. People who hate her believe all the lies the MSM was saying about her starting Aug. 30. Those of us who love her don’t believe the MSM, lots of us don’t watch or read the MSM, and we tend to cheer at news of the impending death of the MSM.

Yes, the haters and the lovers pretty much align with libs/conservatives and Dems/Reps, but not exactly, as we conservatives have been so rudely reminded by our less conservative fellow Republicans. (And also there’s Camille Paglia.)

I never want to vote again for a Republican-lite. Sarah at least allowed me to vote for McCain and keep a bit of self-respect. She actually made me enthusiastic. She has to be the Dems’ and liberals’ worst nightmare and this is why they continue to be obsessed. (That, and the fact that they cannot yet face what they’ve done by electing BHO.)

Her slap in the face of traditional feminism probably is the #1 reason they hate her. I can’t agree more. I just noted the division followed the pro-MSM/anti-MSM division as well.

The hatred traditional feminist women express for Sarah is a huge phenomenon. I cannot think of another female politician who is as self-made as Sarah Palin (unless it’s someone like Michelle Bachman). The majority hitch themselves to fathers’ or husbands’ coattails a la Hillary. No female politicians approved of by the lefty Emily’s List crowd of feminazis ever show a scintilla of independent thought, principles. or reform-mindedness. Sarah threatens their entire, carefully built structure of hogwash. You have to have rejected that hogwash, or you have to reject Sarah (and be hysterical about it).

By November, Palin’s favorable/unfavorable was 48/47%, within the MOE. When the don’t knows/unsures are 6% and the rest are split over whether she’s good or bad, she’s polarizing.

If this were Hillary Clinton being discussed, I’m sure that point would be easily understood around here.

I gravitate toward reading everything on the internet or in the papers that have to do with Palin–I am EAGER to read about her. Thus, I presume, I am adding to her star status and seeming popularity. I am also a liberal Democrat; and I suspect I’m not the only one of my ilk who can’t read enough about Sarah. The fact is, I think Palin is God’s gift to the Democrats. I can’t think of a more satisfying opponent, in a presidential election – whether against Obama in 2012, or someone else in 2016 – than this woman, who can’t put a sentence together using proper syntax, and who seriously thinks that “seeing Russia” from Alaska is a qualification for expertise in foreign policy. You know, you can’t get away from the fact that she said it–in fact she INSISTED on it. And I don’t know how you can conclude anything other than this remark gives indication of a person with enormous chutzpah, and little actual knowledge of the world.

I know most of you who read this website think, like Joe the Plumber, that she’s “the real deal.” If you like the folksy way she talks, more power to you; but if you think the majority of the country thinks her “down home” personality makes up for her rigidly hard-core right wing values and appalling lack of information about the world beyond Alaska, please: nominate her!
