As I was saying the determination as to whom is an invited guest is the responsibility of the social director and staff. At the function, the Secret Service merely screens the approved guests and provides security. The screeners from the social director’s office were the ones who failed to catch the couple.

We want to see Barack Obama retired, back in Chicago or on a Hawaiian beach with his wife and daughters. We want Joe Biden retired and on the train back home.

Despite everything, they are the President and Vice President and they MUST be protected.

During President George W. Bush’s administration, it was standard procedure to have someone from the White House social office at the gate for state dinners and other events with large groups of visitors, according to a former senior Bush aide who spoke on condition of anonymity so as not to be seen as criticizing the Obama White House.

The social office is most knowledgeable about the guest list and could have been called in case of any uncertainty, this official said.

White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers, asked by the AP on Thursday whether personnel from her office were at the checkpoint said, “We were not.”

I think “at home,” the Secret Service backs down to the White House social affairs office. While they may screen the guest list in advance, I doubt they check invitations. Once an approved guest is passed through to security, the Secret Service then does non-intrusive checks (these people ain’t a bunch of snuffies trying to board an airplane) and relies on the in place security devices that DO exist all over the property at the White House, and in fact all over the areas outside the Capitol Building, National Mall and White House. If you’ve ever been to DC you’ll have noticed some of them – public mailbox sized grey-colored machines that suck air and analyze it for various stuff, as well as other devices not so easily spotted.

I guess I’m wondering how effective the Secret Service can be when they are required to admit convicted domestic terrorists to the Oval Office. How do they know who to shoot in the event of a security crisis. It could be one of Obozo’s best friends! Besides, I doubt there’s ever a time that at least 2 Secret Service agents aren’t within diving range of The One, as a last resort.

All that said, however, I’d LOVE to give Michaele a body-cavity search. I’m certain, given enough looking, I’d be able to find something. A cranial-cavity search would, sadly, produce little from either of these two fakers. Well…, Biden either.

The Secret Service had four guys laying across President Reagan, and another couple of agents all over Hinckley, in about a second-and-a-half.

But then an Iraqi journalist managed to throw not one, but two shoes at President Bush. I have wondered ever since how that was allowed? Why weren’t the Secret Service all over that guy the way that they used to protect the President? Is it because of being in a foreign land? But surely the President of the United States is the sovereign property of the USA, and if foreigners don’t like that, there are impossible physical contortions that they are free to experiment with.

And now we have gate-crashers at the White House. Say what you will about the WH Social Director, protection of the President is the responsibility of the Secret Service – without exception, according to their website. Other Departments and Agencies support the Secret Service; not the other way around.

Unless President Obama specifically overruled the Secret Service, there is a whole tier of folks who need to lose their jobs over this.

that is what comse to my mind…. when/where a chemical agent is introduced directly to another via contact with another agent shielding the person doing the passing. They wouldn’t care who else came into later contact with whatever that agent was/is. What if someone was on a suicide mission and didn’t even care if they were infecting themselves (or whatever this “agent” was intended to be doing to the target), especially given current threats with many willing to give their own lives in the destruction of anything that has to do with the US let alone targeting a US President.

In this day and age that you can’t get a small item of hand-sanitizer past the TSA, if they are actually paying attention, the further question of whether or not something could get into the WH is a valid question.

Obama is a friend and supporter of Khalidi and suddenly, out of nowhere, the Salahi’s show up at the first White House State dinner and make it past high security barriers to the reception line and the President in one big serendipitous twist of fate?
