Another “recommendation” by the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force” (soon to be renamed the “Task Force on Clinical Preventive Services” by the current nationalized healthcare legislation).
.. this time on the mental health of children between the ages of 12 and 18, and 7-11.

U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Slams Youth Depression Screening
ROCKVILLE, Md., March 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ – The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force now recommends screening adolescents for clinical depression only when appropriate systems are in place to ensure accurate diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care. This applies to all adolescents 12 to 18 years of age.
In a separate recommendation, the Task Force found insufficient evidence to assess the balance of benefits and harms of screening children 7 to 11 years of age for clinical depression. Treating clinically depressed youths with SSRIs is associated with an increased risk of suicidality (suicidal thoughts, preparation and attempts of suicide) and, therefore, should only be considered if careful clinical supervision is possible. ”
For children 12 – 18, mental healthcare screening is recommended ”only when appropriate systems are in place to ensure accurate diagnosis, treatment AND follow-up care.” (AND = all 3 conditions must be met; not AND/OR)).
Note that In the case of children 7-11, the default recommendation is to NOT TREAT clinically depressed youths (who are already diagnosed) unless “careful clinical supervision is possible.”
What is the point of diagnosing if you can’t treat? WHY TREAT IF YOU CAN’T CURE OR ARE SIMPLY DELAYING THE INEVITABLE?
Truly, this is PREVENTIVE CARE .. They are going to prevent the need to provide care.
The horror stories in other countries are true — the long lines & delayed treatments. Our legislators know about them and are instituting a NATIONAL STRATEGY to mask the inadequacies of a nationalized healthcare system.
This explains putting the brakes on screenings, spreading them out, and delaying them.. for even decades (mams from 40 to 50).
Supply won’t be able to meet demand.
They know this.
The idea is to “calm” down the masses, stagger the influx of “screenings” and other services (reduce our dependence on them), reduce treatment — all this as a form of conditioning and social re-engineering to turn us into another group of entitlement recipients who are waiting for our next “windows update.”
We’ll lose our status as consumers in a free-market society, and become dependents living on the teat of Mother Amerika
