Lest we forget, a lot of innocent people were left out in the cold when their purported elected leaders in the private sector sold them out in favor of personal gain (I assume) and their support of Obamacare.
I’m thinking of the unions, of course, but when in recent memory has their leadership not sold them out? But how about AARP? The AMA? Big Pharma?
Now that Obamacare is almost dead, so also are the deals Reid, Pelosi and the administration promised them…unless of course, they were smart enough to be paid up front.
There are others, but each of these, in their own way, are especially egregious. The recognized representatives for seniors paving the way for a general, across the board diminution of services for oldsters, and de facto death panels. Wow! The recognized representatives of the medical profession agreeing to a permanent government middle man standing between patient and doctor (and no, don’t say the insurance companies once held onto that spot…they stood off to the side). Wow! And senior executives or boards of directors (I’m not sure which) making a Faustian bargain with government where they knew, perhaps as few as half of them would still be in business in 15-20 years, and just like the GM takeover, their shareholders would be given the shortest schrift, before a full government takeover would be a fait accompli.
If RedState and other activist conservative sites, and the tea party “independents” can swing a state like Massachusetts over to a Republican, they should be able to insure that in each of these cases those executives should be soon be leaving their office buildings, valise and walking papers in one hand, their heads in the other.

Whitesands (Diary) Saturday, January 23rd at 2:59PM EST (link)Distrust plagues the economy. The federal government’s quest for control hampers the ability of knowledgeable people to move the economy forward. Individuals cannot plan when government has fostered an environment with autocratic laws and inconsistent rules. Large companies profit from this centralized approach with out true competition. The CEO’s of Wal-mart and GE have both backed the latest junk science coming out of Washington (current Heath care and Energy bills). They run to government and back every centralized plan being introduced without the spine to exercise commonsense and put the country first. Thankfully, so far small business is the largest employer of workers in the country.
The president along with the democratic leadership have put their agenda back two hundred years with their latest attempt at socialism. The two big legislative disasters that awoke the American silent majority are the socialists crown jewels regarding cap and trade and the takeover of health care. All the stars were aligned for the Lefts final assault on a free society. There is a financial disaster, bureaucracies in place to enact unconstitutional laws and the media enlisted to denounce anyone who questioned governmental authority.
The result is the outright rejection of this putrid socialist philosophy. The left have shown their colors revealing a goal of dominating peoples lives. They should not be let off the hook. The American public are done with the Great society, Affirmative Action and a welfare state mentality emanating from Washington. Going forward these legislators must be voted out of office in the next election.
Thomas Jefferson” free government is founded in jealousy not in confidence, it is jealousy and not confidence which prescribes limited constitutions, to bind those we are obliged to trust with power…our constitution has accordingly fixed the limits to which, and no further, our confidence may go. In questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the constitution.”
Not just GE and WalMart

Corporate culture has putrefied all the way down to the mail rooms. The diversity police will ignore, reward, or punish behaviors, proclivities, vices, or life styles depending on the sex, race, or social status of their hero or victim. Openly expressed conservative views will get one labeled negatively. Corporate slogans like “We can’t get where we’re going by doing what we’ve done” are interpreted as a mandate to isolate and punish those whose knowledge and hard work bought and paid for the status and reputation being squandered by the entitlement generation.Bitter? Me? You better believe it.
It does not surprise me that the GE’s of the world have sold their souls to the devil. Many of them were born the bastard children of the government and Wall Street to begin with. But they have gone from being national assets to statist tools. A lot more of these corporations are going to have to go die of terminal liberalism before it gets better.
Great Post, Alamagordo Man.
