Yesterday there was a posting regarding Carrie Prejean and the release of her book. The poster took Ms. Prejean to task on a variety of issues and said the she did not speak for the poster as a conservative woman. This started me thinking about what a conservative woman is and who does speak for conservative women.
What or who is a conservative woman? She is a woman of Faith whatever her religious background. Developing her opinions from her own background and experiences, she is an independent thinker. If she is married, she is a full partner in the marriage realizing that marriage is a mutual submission to each other to become one flesh. If she is single and looking that is the kind of marriage that she wants. Some of us are single and content as we are. She is a mother, married or single, who loves her children and wants the best possible future for them. She is a business woman who wants to succeed. She doesn’t want government making decisions for her. She is a good and loyal citizen who wants the best for our country. She can be soft. She can be tough. She knows her strengths and weaknesses. It would take many more paragraphs to describe one conservative woman. We women are complex beings who baffle men every day. Each of us is a unique being. (Thank Goodness)
We don’t have just one spokesperson, we have many. Some we agree with and some we don’t. They are all from different walks of life and a variety of opinions, but they have conservative values. We have posters here on Redstate, Mom2, Jaded, Penquin2, and Lori_Z (who also blogs). We have bloggers like Conversion Diary, Sister Toldjah and Anchoress. We have those who make targets of themselves such as Rep. Bachmann, Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin, Pamela Geller and all Luce Ladies. None of these women are “cookie cutter” women. They probably disagree on many subjects, but at the core they are conservative women. We don’t necessarily need a spokesperson per se because as a whole we are a vocal lot, but I am thankful we have these women above representing us in all of our variety.
Please add your thoughts I would like to hear them.

Thanks for all you here. We all need each other.
The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis

The problem with conservatives is we are
Steph C (Diary) Tuesday, November 10th at 12:10PM EST (link)independent thinkers, male or female.
That is why it is also so hard to find a conservative leader if you think about it because what we need in a leader is a leader of leaders, someone a leader can follow and still lead in doing his or her own part in leading others.
We have no one who can do that who is visible at the moment, ‘cept maybe Fred.

I'd just like to see a 'Conservative' Leader emerge
toni100 (Diary) Tuesday, November 10th at 12:32PM EST (link)I don’t believe woman need a conservative leader, just as I don’t believe there needs to be a black caucus, hispanic caucus etc…… What conservatives really need is a leader and I don’t mean another limp wristed Republican. The only energizers in the conservative movement at this point in time are woman and that would be Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann.

Ask Wasserman Shultz...she knows
LisaDe (Diary) Tuesday, November 10th at 12:50PM EST (link)Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.), self-rightously, had a few things to say about Conservative women today.
“Asked about Foxx and Bachmann, Wasserman Schultz, blasted away:
“This is a party that doesn’t respect women, a party that doesn’t believe women are equal to men,” she told POLITICO. “I don’t think [Bachmann and Foxx] attract women to their party,” she said.
“I think they repulse women.””
This woman blasted the majority of women in the United States who now consider themselves Conservative. Bottom line for this attack from this arrogant, self-absorbed woman who believes herself to be more important than she actually is, is because Conservative Women are standing up and fighting for our liberty and freedom for our families and generations to come. The thought that she finds this repulsive, actually repulses me.

It's the only way women like her can justify their lives.
Steph C (Diary) Tuesday, November 10th at 4:15PM EST (link)They have sold out to so many different things under the guide of liberation that they have unwittingly sold themselves into bondage of a different sort.
For instance, they think abortion on demand liberates them when it doesn’t. All it does is make them easy prey for men under the guise of sexual freedom and they become slaves to physical needs and forget to feed the other parts that need nourishing… like their minds and hearts.
They have created a miserable world for themselves and in that misery hate anyone who isn’t as miserable as they are.

mwmom Wednesday, November 11th at 8:21PM EST (link)I heard her make this statement and thought, “shows how much she knows.” I do, in fact, like Bachmann and Foxx and love it when they stand up for their beliefs, which, more often than not, reflect mine as well. It’s another example of the libs thinking they are so much smarter than the conservatives, like we conservative women just aren’t savvy enough to know what we want. Oh, I know wat I want all right, and I’d be happy to tell Ms. Wasserman Schultz if she’d listen.

penguin2 (Diary) Tuesday, November 10th at 12:57PM EST (link)Like C_T said, you second paragraph is excellent and I smiled when I read that line. It is good that we are all so different, yet together we accomplish a great deal.
A conservative woman finds the balance in her life for who she is and what she wants to do and for the tasks she undertakes. Whether it is marriage, motherhood, career or a combination of same. No one ever said it is a ready made or easy task, in fact, it is an evolving one for the individual, but at the end of the day she recognizes, that yes indeed, she is a conservative woman.
Thanks for writing about this. I tried to figure out why that diarist had us so stirred up. IMO, she came here seeking to incite us to agree with her and be intolerant. The diarist was unhappy to discover that true conservatives won’t tolerate the intolerant.

WE are all spokesperson's for Conservative Women....
JadedByPolitics (Diary) Tuesday, November 10th at 10:30PM EST (link)I like to think when I talk about Conservatism and the FREEDOM it brings that it speaks to ALL women (and men). If I had a wish of whom I would like to get up and KNOCK DOWN N.O.W it would be Sarah Palin (no I don’t want her to run for President) I think she embodies all the virtues of being a Conservative woman, STRONG, SMART, HARD (when needed), SOFT (when needed) and a damn fine example of a hardworking woman who surrounds herself with her family as she makes the MOST of her life. The ultimate reason is she believes that LIFE is guaranteed to all and she is unafraid to say so!

Conservative women as blinded Amish
Karina (Diary) Wednesday, November 11th at 4:59AM EST (link)Nothing against the Amish, but I think there is a misconception out there that conservative women are unnaturally blinded to “reality”. We haven’t been enlightened enough yet to understand the progressive mold. In reality, they are the ones who are blinded. All of us work hard, some even get paid to do it! Some homeschool our kids, volunteer our time and energy where we choose, and support our families in ways invaluable to them. If someone was actually paid to do all we do, they would be paid over $300,000 per year. A lot of us are throwing in political activism in the mix as well because they have awoken our inner mama bear. The NOW crowd and other feminazi’s had better watch out. They haven’t seen and don’t understand how protective we are of our families, our country, and our way of life.
Isn’t it ironic that many progressive women suddenly get the urge to mother when they are older? Too bad they miss the whole point of family.
The NOW Crowd & Co.

People who are "Pro-Choice" should respect Sarah Palin's choice.
David123 (Diary) Wednesday, November 11th at 1:13PM EST (link)I draw a distinction between “pro-choice” and “pro-abortion”. A pro-choice person would not outlaw abortion. However, a pro-choice person would not expect government to fund or encourage abortions. And certainly,a pro-choice person would not villify a woman who chooses to give birth.

Amy Miller (Diary) Wednesday, November 11th at 3:08AM EST (link)Heeheehee…
I’d just as soon NOT have one spokeswoman for conservative femmes, because you know as soon as one poked her head up, we’d have rumors about racy underwear and sex tapes and tattoos and this one time on spring break when she and three guys went skinny dipping in a waterfall in Costa Rica. Annoying!
I agree with Jaded…we all add a little bit. We’re a collective spokesthingy! It’s nice because there are times we disagree, which reinforces the point that conservatism isn’t this hard-line, puritan doctrine. Conservatism can be smart, and sexy, and snarky, and intellectually challenging. It’s not all dusty documents and paying homage to Thomas Paine (or whoever) 4 times a day.

It's true, it is sort of limiting
Amy Miller (Diary) Wednesday, November 11th at 11:25AM EST (link)Especially since people tend to go after women in a more personal way, as opposed to the way they go after men.
I HATE pulling the woman card, but there’s just something awesome about hearing ~*fun, fearless females*~ (yes I just said that, realizing I’ll be judged forever for it) stand up for other women!
Of course, when that happens, the woman who speaks up is usually labeled a heinous beyotch who can’t keep her trap shut, but when that happens we can all laugh and say snarky things about the haters

People go after women verbally because women are oriented that way,
Xasteius (Diary) Wednesday, November 11th at 12:19PM EST (link)just like guys are oriented to go slug someone. One is not better than the other; it’s just different. Frankly, I personally experienced that a lot of women take advantage of chivalry with respect to men, knowing that societal prejudice will not allow the man to defend him adequately.
Female v. female in some ways is worse, (derived from what I’ve heard of my sister’s experiences), than female v. male or male v. male, with the verbal sniping, catfights, gossiping, backstabbing, envy, etc.
My grandfather once said you never put a woman to lead other women. I never understood what he meant until I heard a story going around the university scene about a female engineer who was intelligent and really good-looking. Because of her interests, she hung around with the guys at national conferences and made the other women envious because she wouldn’t sit around and talk about ‘girly things’.

Wow, I agree with what everyone here has said....
marshmom (Diary) Wednesday, November 11th at 8:03AM EST (link)Jaded, especially the part about Sarah Palin and Karina, the part about how “feminists” believe that we are somehow out of touch with reality and don’t know what it means to be a woman.
In fact, I would argue that it is THEM that don’t know what it is to be a woman and certainly don’t embrace their role as women that God created for us, but then again, that is their problem…..most of them don’t believe that God created man and woman were created by God, but we evolved from club-wielding, knuckle-dragging, grunting, hairy apes who beat their females and forced them to do the child rearing.
Frankly, Whassername-Shultz can go shove it where the sun don’t shine with her opinions about conservative women. My guess is, if she had to debate womanhood with a conservative female, she’d curl up in a fetal position and suck her thumb. Liberals are so delusional and misguided that when it comes to taking a stand for something, they don’t know how to present an intelligent argument, so they instead trash the person.
I can only imagine what type of man marries a liberal feminist woman. I can tell you that every liberal male I’ve ever seen on television looks like he lives in Weenieville. They are not manly, and apparently, not assertive either or would tell these feminazi’s to hit the road with their haughty, proud, arrogant, foolish, ideals and don’t let the door hit ‘em too hard on the way out. They’ve been allowed to run rabid with their warped beliefs (i.e. Abortion is a “woman’s rights” issue–forget about the unborn child–it has no rights.) and in the era of being politically correct, people have let them devalue the family unit with their grotesque misrepresentations of what a woman’s role is in life. And just for the record, I have a college education and choose to be a full-time mom.
Thanks for writing this diary. It was great to get this off my chest and learn what others on here feel about this subject.
You are welcome.
