Schilling raises over $25,000 in his “Kill the Bill” Money-bomb

Bobby Schilling, a relatively unknown candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th against Rep. Phil Hare, held a “kill the bill” money bomb that raised over $25,000. The drive was announced about 2 weeks ago and ended last night at midnight.

From the FEC report, it looks like Schilling has barely raised $89,000 total for his campaign. His latest COH has him at $44,000. This kill the bill drive might be a sign that he is starting to pull in some serious funds.

If he is going to be viable, Schilling has to get over $100,000 COH, at least, by the end of the 1st quarter. If he doesn’t get there, it is going to be very hard for him to over come his opponent, even in a conservative election year.

What an accomplishment, tschill. No doubt conservatives are coming out in droves to support candidates like Schilling! I’ll see what I can do to push him over the top of $100k for you.
