Bobby Schilling, Republican candidate for Congress in the Illinois 17th District, is within 7 points of Phil Hare in a recent poll conducted by a non-partisan polling company. While it is only March, Schilling seems to be making great progress in his district. Hare seems to be a big supporter of the current healthcare bill. The problem is that the healthcare bill doesn’t seem to be supporting him very much.
In a heavily democrat leaning district, over 25% of voters are undecided. This is also a seat that has been held by democrats for over 30 years.
Rep. Hare should be careful about the vote he takes on healthcare.

Media Coverage???
mikejmoe Friday, March 19th at 8:29PM EST (link)Wow, how haven’t I heard about this race. It seems like every watchdog and media organization has missed this race. I looked at Bobby’s website, and I like his stances. This would be an cherry picked seat just like that in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey.
Whats even more amazing is that Cook has this heavily gerrymandered (IL-17th look it up) at D+3. I think its about time that this race receive some more attention, as this could end up being an easy pickup!
