Lumumba Stanislaus Di-Aping, the negotiator for the so-called Group of 77 developing countries, told Danish television that "things are not going well." After taking part in an hourlong meeting, he concluded that the summit will "probably be wrecked by the bad intentions of some people." Pressed by a reporter from TV2 News for specifics, Di-Aping said questions should be directed to the Danish government, which he said was up to "no good."

None of them are up to any good! Fail.

Excellent post and, although I have not seen the film that you refer to, it sounds like it makes several of the same points that I have made elsewhere.

in my opinion are macrocosms, one defined politically the other economically (and both closely tied to one another), of the human condition. On a very personal scale, I think each exists in all of us. Although a huge believer in personal responsibility in practice, I often times rhetorically reflect upon how easily I’d be swayed if someone told me I’d be on the dole-how tempting it would be to sit my butt on the couch and collect cheetos on my chest. It doesn’t then take me long to remember, then at that point…I’ve been defined. At that point, I’d have NO chance of being greater than _someone_ _else’s_ definition of me as a human being which is genuinely and ultimately rightfully God’s given Grace-or at the very least, mine.

Ahh, the 80s.
Cocaine was “the harmless drug”, Aids was some kind of diet candy, hair had to be big, and groups like Tears for Fears wrote songs about “…everybody wanting power, about warfare and the misery it causes”.
1984 came and went. No Big Brother that anyone knew of.
Who knew the “harmless” hippies of the 60s would be the ones to come back and make the big play to become “The Man” they used to be afraid of.
