Seems Roy is not into taking a pay cut when the state is in dire financial straits, as is some other moron Democratic Assembly member who represents Maxine Waters very own Inglewood. LA Times has the details. Roy has to be playing a joke on the tax payers of Bakersfield...right? Oh and there is a recall going on at Recall Roy.

This is almost as funny as Karen Bass, the Speak of the State Assembly, who said the the following:

“The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue [i.e., TAXES]… They operate under a terrorist threat: ‘You vote for revenue and your career is over.’ I don’t know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist.”

Please tell me that I’m having a bad dream?

And I half expected to see state officials shaking down out-of-state passengers for money as we got off the plans.

I’ve tried and tried and tried to treat liberals with respect as I disagree with their arguments. But everytime I hear stuff like this, I want to ask people like Ms. Evans, “Are you a child? Are you that detached from reality and the consequences of actions?”

In other words, she starts with a baseline of tax revenues which in her mind is a Goddess-given entitlement that the state owns – and she can’t imagine giving it away.

As opposed to taxes being the citizen’s property that the state is taking.

Which means that the state has to justify taking taxes in the first place – and the pattern of taxation. But Rep. Evan thinks that the justification has to come from those who want to lower taxes.

Nope – as King George III discovered a while back. And Rehoboam a bit further back in time.

But then again, I’m preaching to the choir here.

She is exactly right. To her, and so many other politicians, “living within their means” IS meaningless.

Obama is making sure than anyone else who doesn’t live within their means doesn’t suffer, and those of us who do wil foot the bill. At least for now.
