When one of my daughters had a concert at the same time I had drill weekend, I popped in wearing camo BDUs.
Last Sat night she was to receive a Teen of the Year award, just as I got a call from Highway Patrol to pick up a two car wreck. Showed up with the truck, two wrecked cars, and covered with dirt and oil.
If it's good enough for my family, it'll have to be good enough for a political party.

Keep up the good work. Get more engaged with them. You won't be a pest - chances are they'll welcome the help.

More on this tomorrow.

Oh, and to hell with the suit (no offense to the lawyers who hang out around here...you know who you are).

I don't mean buy a suit. I mean get involved in the local operations and talk with people. If your executive director has an opening as a precinct captain or some other job that involves knocking doors, take it. Chances are, there are plenty of openings. Wear your jeans and walk the precinct. Let people know that Republican Party isn't limited to rich white males. Get others like you to get active too.

Don't worry about becoming a pest. If you can increase the party membership (or at least primary turnouts) in your precinct, no one will care how you dress and they sure won't think you're a pest.

I've had kind of a theme to my postings of late. I've gotten the idea stuck in my head that the only way the party will recover is if WE make it happen and start at the local level. I can think of no better group of people to do it that the RedState readership.
