I said GET OUT of The E.U.

With friends like these….

President Donald Trump, in his first visit to England as President, dropped a bombshell with the British newspaper The Sun. He told Prime Minister Theresa May that Britain needed to go full withdrawal from the E.U. and honor the vote of Great Britain from two years ago.

From the Interview

In an extraordinary intervention timed to coincide with his UK visit, Mr Trump said Theresa May ignored his advice by opting for a soft Brexit strategy.

And he warned her any attempts to maintain close ties with the EU would make a lucrative US trade deal very unlikely.

Mr. Trump said: “If they do a deal like that, we would be dealing with the European Union instead of dealing with the UK, so it will probably kill the deal.”

This on the heels of the Prime Minister losing two of her governments’ ministers over the negotiations of the exit from the E.U. is bound too put more pressure on her as the October deadline approaches for a plan to be submitted. Her tenure as P.M was already shaky and this most likely will topple her.

Adding pressure is the caveat that the United States will not negotiate a separate trade deal with Britain unless there is a full withdrawal.

Will be interesting to see how the Brits react to this. I’m pretty sure that the United States would not be thrilled if such conditions were put on us after a vote of the whole country. This is not a security issue or a trademark angle. How a country deals with other countries in trade is their business.

Looks more and more like The United States is ready to wage a trade war against China and everyone else.
