Our machine says you didn’t take your pill Mr. Elderly…

http://cnsnews.com/news/article/64663

Scary stuff in this article. One of the ways to keep the elderly elderly or in a continual tranquilized stuper is to medicate, medicate, medicate. No longer will you be able to hide the pills under your tongue and spit them out and break out of there. You’ll be hooked to a machine and Big Brother will know. The forces at work today are diabolical!

Right now, our family monitors the medication given my 89 year old father and we lobby to remove anything that does not improve or sustain his well-being. This means he gets the Alzheimer’s meds, but we aren’t seeing the need for him to lower his cholesterol these days. In the Brave New World, when the solution is to take the “red pill,” the doctors/feds will know if the patient and/or caregivers (family, if I am lucky) has/have complied.

Beware of these technological ”breakthroughs”. They can and will be used against us, especially if we can still roll dear old dad to the local precinct, or get him an absentee ballot.

Stupak wants healthcare to pass

This idea that the block of pro-choice dems will stay that way if they need their votes was contradicted by Stupak on Greta. If they get close an need them, they’ll do some kind of deal–probably going further than they wanted–but knowing that the prize will be won–Senate bill will be in the books–once the reconciliation bill falls apart in the Senate. So the question is not when will Stupak and others cave, but where is their duping point? In that interview I heard no conviction on his part to defend the Constitution, to head off this trillion dollar boondoggle, etc. Make him happy with some assurance–and Pelosi will find something that pushes his button–and he will vote yes. Actually, if they peel enough of his block off, he floats in the wind, unneeded.

Obama’s Unwanted Storylines…

From the Politico…

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1109/29993.html

As a service to Redstate readers, the “Reader’s Digest” Version…

“Here are seven storylines Obama needs to worry about:

1. He thinks he’s playing with Monopoly money

It is clear Obama underestimated the political consequences that flow from the perception that he is a profligate spender.

2. Too much Leonard Nimoy

His intellectuality has contributed to a growing critique that decisions are detached from rock-bottom principles.

3. That’s the Chicago Way

The lesson that many Washington insiders have drawn is that Obama wants to buy off the people he can and bowl over those he can’t.

4. He’s a pushover

It’s a perception that began when Obama several times laid down lines — then let people cross them with seeming impunity.

5. He sees America as another pleasant country on the U.N. roll call, somewhere between Albania and Zimbabwe

It would be hugely unwelcome for Obama if the perception took root that he is comfortable with a relative decline in U.S. influence or position in the world.

6. President Pelosi

It is clear that Obama has allowed the speaker to become more nearly an equal — and far from a subordinate — than many of his predecessors of both parties would have thought wise.

7. He’s in love with the man in the mirror

Does Obama have more than his share of self-regard?

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all the people some of the time, but not all the people all the time.” Abraham Lincoln

Beck on right track…

Fresh off a book signing event at Borders here in Tampa that had lines of book byers circling and weaving through the store and many waiting outside http://hotair.com/archives/2009/11/21/glenn-beck-i-am-developing-a-100-year-plan/, Glenn Beck took off for The Villages to unveil his “plan”, or at least the first part of it. I don’t know what Beck’s big plan will be once we get to Washington, but Beck’s strategy to educate those of us who want to do something–anything–to slow this careening freight train is a good one. We are sadly at the mercy of a 60-40 Democrat advantage in the Senate and we are outnumbered in the House and nothing can turn that tide until 2010. This state of affairs has me trying to get my boss to take on Kathy Castor in Tampa and I hope others everywhere are thinking along those same lines in other districts. We’ve got to take these guys on regardless of the archaic notion of a “safe seat.” I say this because I talked to one of the Republican kingpins in this area and he said she is ”unbeatable.” Well we can’t give up so easily. To let a Pelosi liberal off without a dress-down that would come from a Republican challenger is unthinkable. For now, I’ve just about “melted” as many phones as I can. It’s time for some hard work at taking back Washington in 2010. This will be our beach head. From there, on to 2012.

How far we have sunk…

The White House Correspondents’ Dinner was once an opportuntity for George Bush to unleash a rash of self-deprecating jokes, and allow himself to be roasted, all in good taste, grace and fun.

I am shocked at what came out of Wanda Skyes’ mouth and the glee on Obama’s face hearing it. Wishing a human being’s kidneys to fail (Rush Limbaugh’s) is an abomination, and our President laughed!

How far we have sunk. We hear what is despicable and we laugh?

God help us.

Never underestimate your opponent…

I hope the current trend of bad mouthing and scoffing at the Tea Party movement continues. I hope they are asleep at the switch when the ballot box confirms reality. Perhaps 1,500 showed up at our Tampa rally, but passing motorists showed by their incessant honking that there were many more sympathetic to the cause.

Perhaps Mr. Axelrod has forgotten the Obama playbook:

“In respect of military method, we have, firstly, measurement; secondly, estimation of quantity; thirdly, calculation; fourthly, balancing of chances; fifthly, victory. ” Sun Tzu, The Art of War, IV.17

The disdain these people have for decent, law abiding people who exemplify the American Spirit never ceases to amaze and baffle.

Come quickly 2010!

True American Spirit Shines Through…

Notwithstanding all of our brave fighting men and women, two captains of late have exhibited the true American spirt. I only hope that Gen Whatever is watching and learning. Our first captain successfully crashed landed his aircraft in a river, saving his passengers and crew. He was last to leave the plane. The other captain was first to leave his ship, to save it and his crew. And he twice set up rescue attempts at his own peril.  Neither claimed any credit. Just doing their job they’d say. The American Spirit is still alive and well. It’s just not reported on until something extraordinary happens that can’t be avoided by the Main Street Media.

Why do we fear this bully Obama?

I’m more and more agitated each day as I hear accounts of how Obama is shaking down of free world. A bank wants to pay back TARP money with interest and he refuses. He stares down reporters. He keeps tabs on anyone who crosses him. He threatens us almost daily. It’s “in your face” 24/7.

Who is going to stand up to this arrogant thug?  He’s like the school bully. He will run amuck until checked. I remember the guy who did take on that school bully. It was a respectful straight-A guy who couldn’t take it anymore. Lunch trays went flying. Funny, the bully was a bully no more.

Is there anyone like that around? It’s not Romney. It’s not Sarah. It’s not Newt. It’s not Huck.

Newt’s a Panty Waist…

My e-mail to the Speaker…

“Mr. Speaker,

It you are going to run in 2012, don’t be weighing it into 2011 to see if it is necessary. “If it is necessary?” Are you a leader or not? Do you care enough for America to run now despite the costs? Your announcement said nothing to me other than more of the same from Newt Gingrich; endless pontification. I love your ideas and your command of the issues, but they do us no good on the sidelines. Now more than ever we need a leader to begin voicing the opposition in the political arena, not just on talk radio and on the cable shows. It’s now or never. Don’t tease America’s conservatives with “If it’s necessary!”"

Don’t Pick a Fight with a Pit Bull…

If I were Obama, I’d rethink taking on Rush and Cramer. Nothing in their personalities would indicate a willingness to cower even under intense fire. In the time His Hipness can say “Look, uh..” both have registered two or three verbal jabs, and are working on a fourth. The arrogance to think that one will not get bloodied when mixing it up with a pit bull? Further, what failure to comprehend how the average Joe thinks? First, the “ditto head” may have a 20-year relationship with the guy and knows from whence he comes. With Cramer, does he not tell it like it is–maybe as he sees it–all the time? Why engage a guy that is going to call you an “effeminate ex-ballarina,” and your partners “official greeters at Area 51 in Roswell, New Mexico”–and until you can shut him up with a reincarnation of the Fairness Doctrine–can get away with it? Most bullies I knew in grade school had no sense of humor. So too the demons now tending to the One’s affairs. The quick-witted and artful always seem to gain the upper hand until a right cross is administered.  For the Messiah, he can’t get close enough to these guys to do any damage, while all along they can pulverize him. Maybe this is good politics, but it is not a successful strategy against pit bulls.  Try a congressman  or senator, they are much easier prey.

Obama Overbearing, Pelosi Over-the-top, Jindal Over His Head…

I watched a little of the President’s speech, as much as I could stomach. The bug-eyed plastic-faced Pelosi jack-in-the-box was a huge distraction. She should have been put in the “safe undisclosed place” instead of Holder.

Obama comes across mean and dictatorial. Unlike Bush, I don’t think he could shed a tear unless it was over his own successful squashing of what is left of the American spirit. Watching him work the crowd told volumes. He has an uncanny ability to ignore people in his face. If I were Ken Salazar, I would be wondering why I took the Interior job. Like he wasn’t there. Bush was a lovable frat boy as he made his way through the crowd. Still likeable even if he couldn’t find the WMD’s. Obama. Scary. Plain scary.

On the Republican front, Jindal was warm and engaging, but far too boyish at present. I’m sure he’s hands down smarter than Palin, but she’s got it, and his is still on the truck, out for delivery. I’d say Palin is our main hope right now if she can shed the mavricky wardrobe she acquired during the inquisition—I mean campaign. Forget reaching across the aisle. We’ve got to take control of the game. She should know how if she was a point guard. Now wouldn’t be too soon to hit the campaign trail.

Predictions if Either Obama or McCain Wins…

Either way, gun and ammo sales boom!

If Obama wins…

Initially, thinly veiled gloating transitioning into an all out “We Are the Champions” in-your-face chant. People Magazine-like reporting on Obama’s ascension to power and his every move. Bush extends an unnecessarily gracious long arm of friendship during the transition. Mouth service given to the new age of bipartisanship while closed door meetings are held by Pelosi and Reid for top-to-bottom takeover of government. Announcements early on what Supreme Court judges are resigning effective January 21st. Election celebration turns to rioting in the streets. Guns and ammo sales boom. Stock market plummets again. The purge of the opposition commences: first up, The Fairness Doctrine, i.e. Rush and Hannity. Reports of election irregularities are squashed. Bush pardons only a few, including Olympian Marion Jones.

If McCain wins…

Rioting in the streets and on campuses. Lawsuits commence. Obama refuses to concede until days pass, and then uses the opportunity to stoke the fires while calling for calm. Cries of racism come from the media. TV anchors take vacations. Suicides well publicized. Bush extends a short arm of friendship to McCain during the transition. Many dems tapped for Cabinet positions. Cheney meets with Palin for transition meetings in Wyoming and they do some skeet shooting. World universally condemns red-necked bigoted Americans. Only Greta covers the Palins transition from Alaska to D.C. McCain supporters are attacked. Properties previously sporting McCain signs vandalized and some burned. Gun and ammo sales boom. Stock market reacts positively.

Warnings from the Ancient Scriptures…

1 Samuel 8

It has been easy to live in America for most of its relatively short life. Founded by Christian men or by those who at least paid homage to the Almighty, the stage was set more than 232 years ago to receive prolonged heavenly blessings, and we have.

Of course, there have always been the detractors, who, because of the freedoms afforded to them, have roamed among the masses spreading discord. But the bad apples have never had the numbers to hold too much sway, and the principle of “one bad apple” has not applied.

Thanks to the forethought of our Founding Fathers to write down that which is important, and to codify that which is essential, we have kept our course through many temptations to establish for ourselves a king so that we can “live like all the nations” (8:5, 20). It appears, however, that a tipping point has been reached and those shouting for a ruler are now drowning out those who know better.

Indeed, we may have reached the precipice where the majority wishes to plunge headlong into the abyss. Indeed, the God of our Fathers may this time grant them their wish, and we will not be able to do a thing about it.

When the Israelites cried out for a king, Samuel tried to no avail to dissuade them. He warned them about the “procedure of the king,” how he would take their sons and daughters, he would take the best of their fields and produce, and the seed, and give it to his servants, he would take their servants and beasts of burden, and he would take a portion of their flocks, again, to give them to his servants. Why would the people desire to be put upon in such fashion?

Collective laziness and apathy. They were no longer willing to expend the energy to judge themselves and to fight for themselves. Sound familiar?

We are a country brought to life by the forging of rugged individualism and selfless sacrifice. Never before have the two traits operated so effectively. This glue has kept us together through many wars with others and with ourselves, deep depression, and many other “toils and snares.”

And let us not ignore or forget the blessings bestowed by His gracious hand in return for reverence so pitiful in comparison. We tend to think that with God, it is all or nothing, but he knows us all too well. We are incapable of the all and very capable of the nothing. Thankfully, he seems to give credit to those who lean his way, and he saves those who take but a step toward him.

Let us collectively step back from the edge and head back to the Shining City on the Hill.

At this pivotal point in our history, may we pivot to him in the knick of time!

So what? and So what?

Powell shows true colors...

I shed no tears over the Powell endorsement. He is the wimpiest, most indecisive general we’ve had in my lifetime (back to Korean War) and a turncoat in the Bush administration, and to Republicans in general. And to you democrats who wish to gloat about this decision, how can you call him an “Uncle Tom” while he’s serving in one of the two loftiest positions ever held by black people in an administration and then crow about this endorsement? I say, I’m glad we put this tortured soul out of his misery. And don’t tell me it’s not about race.

Fox Legal Analyst Calls Troopergate Report Built on Speculation…

This video is very revealing as to what really is in the report. I wish I had a dollar for the misquotes and misrepresentations, such as Wooten was fired (wasn’t), Monegan was fired (reassigned), she broke “ethical laws” (what?), etc. Watch for yourself.

McCain Has No Killer Instinct…

Where's the fighter pilot when we need him?

Rush Limbaugh played the clip where McCain named Frank and Dodd three times so that if McCain denounced himself later in the day, we would have proof of what he said. He was a day late and did something far worse; he effectively endorsed Obama. No need to be scared of him, he said. No wonder the crowds are yelling at him! I am, but he can’t hear me through my TV. He was monentarily on a roll, but something in him doesn’t allow him to go for the jugular. He has a trip wire that Pelosi and Reid and Clinton don’t have. Very, very frustrating.

We have a lot to lose!!!

Don't give up.

What did the dems have to suffer through under Bush? Did they get drafted and sent to the front lines? No. Were they forced to take the extra money in their paychecks and IRS refunds? No. Were we mean? No.

But we stand to lose so much more. Our hard earned salaries. Our inheritance. Freedom to select a doctor. Beef eating. Our ammunition. The list goes on.

We need to keep pushin’ and prayin’ for a miraculous game changer. The fat lady has yet to sing.

Do you believe in miracles?

That's what it's going to take.

Blood is in the water. We’re under the pile and bodies are still pouncing. Custer’s back to back with the flag-bearer. Pretty bleak. The White Knight suspends his campaign and rides in and gets caught in a traffic jam. He piles up debating points but the scorekeeper’s on the take. Now Miss Congeniality’s lipstick is fake. Jeez.

Ya know, I’m just crazy enough to think that something’s going to pop up to put The One off-stride. You get overly confident and you get sloppy. “Pride comes before the fall.” So I’m going to watch some baseball (Rays) and some football (USF Bulls and maybe the Bucs), ignore the Dow and ween myself from this 24/7 campaign vigil. I’m just not wired to watch the piling on. Besides, it’s ridiculous to be screaming at the TV all the time.

Meanwhile I’ll be praying for that cruel twist of fate, the untimely fumble, the step out of bounds, the misfire, the backfire, the snap over the punter’s head, and so on.

I’m not going to watch (famous last words) but I’m not giving up.

Gov’t to Potentially Own $700 Billion in Homesteads

Talk about eminent domain!

This bailout gets more scary by the minute. Not only does all manner of power go into the hands of the Secretary of the Treasury (who??), but the government sets the stage to own the home you live in!

Time for the Game Changer…

If there is one.

John McCain is scrappy and shrewd. He’s like the “old ball coach” with another trick play up his sleeve. Yet you don’t coach UF anymore and you’re too far behind with precious minutes left–against UF.

I would be hopeful that there could be a game changer on the horizon for McCain, but I fear the VP debate. I sense that Palin lacks the creativity to compose answers to questions on the fly. Biden can filibuster with the best of them. My fear is compounded by the problem that the MSM will not challenge a thing the dems say. The moderator will join the attack too, you can bet on it. So I would tell Biden to make her cry. It won’t matter. Beat her up. They’ll sort through it all and come to the same conclusion. She is “vapid and shallow” no matter how well she does.

The economy is in such a state of upheaval that it might be impossible to avoid the “throw the bums out” mindset. We had them on energy with Palin, but the discussion has changed. McCain’s foray back into the legislative process has been obfuscated to the point that it wasn’t worth the drama. On this, Obama has the audacity to give him “no credit.” This will be THE topic until and after election day, we’ll just have to face facts.

McCain needs some traction but has little tread left. He has been down and out before, but are there any tricks left in the bag? Maybe these perhaps? For one, I’d phone in unexpectantly to Rush and Hannity and explain his role in the bailout deal. That’s millions in the base and some independents too. He needs to connect with the people. He’s not getting through clearly in the MSM. All there is is Fox. Second, I’d pull Palin out of study hall and have her get loose for the debate. We don’t want her to try to win a policy debate with Biden. Whatever it is–the moxy she’s used thus far to propel her forward, needs to be tapped again to win. “Ya know, the way we handle that back in Alaska is to…” will work much better than stumbling through a few foreign names. Third, I would dredge up all the bad guys (Retzko, Wright, Ayers) in Obama’s past with a flurry of negative ads. What do we have to loose? Go for the jugular this time. Get Obama to send out his lawyers against us. That should be the goal.

I am praying for a miracle. Some twist of fate that turns the tide. We are doomed with Pelosi, Reid and Obama. Doomed.

I know this is a downer, but John and advisors, reach deep. Think of something! Sarah Palin, get your game face on. If Biden says something insulting, say “if I weren’t a lady, I come over there and pop you.”
